Din woke up with a mild headache as he heard chatter all around him. He stood up immediately, but a sharp pain hit his gut, causing him to bend down.
"Easy," a stern male voice was heard as a soft palm pushed Din back onto the mat he was lying on.
"You are lucky to have survived, same as the rest. Anyways, the first day was a success. Who knew a miracle could happen?" the man spoke with a smile as he handed Din a bowl of hot, steamy porridge.
"Thank you," Din said as the man nodded.
Although noises filled the air and everything was rowdy, Din didn't have time to admire or look around. He felt weak and hungry, so he rapidly ate as much as he could.
Only when Din finished the porridge did his body relax.
His entire body was almost completely bandaged. At least his entire upper body, except for his neck, was wrapped in bandages.
Around him, he could see young men, old men, and middle-aged men all gathered around different bonfires.
