Chapter 13 - Top Floor III

On the side, Rei Lin calmly commented, "Looks like you have a bloodline that attaracts Divine Beasts… or even simple beasts too."

His words made everyone freeze—especially Madam Feng, who looked absolutely stunned. But Rei Lin had already seen through her.

"She's not fully human," he added. "She has a sealed Phoenix bloodline."

Yu Rou blinked. "Wait… Madam Feng is a Divine Beast?"

Rei Lin nodded. "Yes. But her bloodline is sealed. I'm not sure if it's by her own will or someone else's doing."

All eyes turned to Madam Feng. She let out a long sigh, then slowly nodded.

"…Yes. I was once a Divine Beast—an Vermillion phoenix. But I offended someone powerful, and as punishment, my bloodline was sealed. I was cast into the lower heavens and forced to live among weak."

There was silence for a moment.

"But… how do you know saw through me?" she asked Rei Lin cautiously.

He met her gaze, unfazed. "I'm not going to reveal that."

Madam Feng simply nodded and said nothing more, clearly sensing that pushing him further could offend Rei Lin—or whatever power stood behind him.

"Ahem… anyway," she coughed lightly to shift the mood. "Since I've already revealed two of my top treasures, I believe this last one might also interest you."

She brought out a jade slip, faintly glowing with a fiery aura.

Rei Lin raised an eyebrow. "What is this?"

A surge of pure phoenix force emanated from it. He recognized it instantly. "This is… your blood. From when your bloodline wasn't sealed."

Madam Feng nodded solemnly. "Yes. This is a sample from when I still had full access to my Phoenix bloodline."

"Do you wish to sell it?" Rei Lin asked.

"I do," she replied.

He didn't answer right away but instead stared at the jade slip thoughtfully. An idea flickered through his mind.

"Do you happen to have more jade slips like this? Ones that can store blood?"

Surprised, she nodded. "Yes, I do."

"Then I'll take them all," Rei Lin said.

She handed over several jade slips, and Rei Lin purchased every last one without hesitation.

"Do you also want to buy this blood?" she asked, holding up the phoenix blood jade slip. There was a hint of hope in her voice.

Rei Lin shook his head. "No. I don't want it."

She looked slightly disappointed but nodded in understanding as Rei Lin turned to inspect the other items.

"What can Phoenix blood even do?" Yu Rou asked curiously.

Madam Feng perked up and answered quickly, "Phoenix blood is a miracle in liquid form. Just a single drop can bring a half-dead man back to life. It can heal any illness or injury, regrow limbs—even restore lost meridians. And most importantly, it can grant extraordinary longevity. Depending on the purity and strength of the phoenix, even a mortal can live over 10,000 years just by consuming it, even without cultivating."

Yu Rou's jaw dropped slightly, but Yu Tian's reaction was even more intense.

'Heal any illness or injury…?' A deep light flickered in Yu Tian's eyes. A possibility surged to the front of his mind.

If the Translucent Dew of Flawlessness affected my body in the real world… then maybe this phoenix blood could heal my real illness too. Even if it's just a chance, I have to try. I must obtain that phoenix blood!

"Um… what would you accept in exchange for the phoenix blood?" Yu Tian asked her, his tone unusually serious.

Rei Lin glanced over, intrigued. Why does he want it so badly? he wondered. But instead of asking, something else crossed his mind.

He already has a Soul Weapon… and the only other person I know who does is Player Yuan. Could it be… he is Player Yuan?

Rei Lin's eyes narrowed slightly, thoughtful. I'll ask him later. And if he is… then I definitely want to fight him at least once.

As Yu Tian continued negotiating with Madam Feng, Rei Lin's interest deepened. She's asking for his blood… Just what is it about Yu Tian's blood that could make a Divine Beast willingly give up her own bloodline in exchange?

In the end, Rei Lin quietly observed as Madam Feng drank a drop of Yu Tian's bloodline. The atmosphere was strangely sensual—she held his finger gently, her lips brushing it as she sucked out a drop.

Rei Lin's lips twitched. He glanced at Yu Tian, who had no reaction on his face—completely blank, almost too calm.

Unable to hold back, Rei Lin leaned toward Yu Rou and whispered, "Um… is your brother impotent or something?"

That earned a sharp frown from Yu Rou, but after a second, she understood what he meant. She sighed and shook her head. "No, it's just… my brother spent most of his life bedridden. He never really developed that kind of awareness."

"Is he still ill?" Rei Lin asked curiously. He genuinely wondered—especially if Yu Tian really was Player Yuan. If so, then he can use this oppurtunity to befriend him. If not… well, then he was just passing time. After all, Shi Yun's memories had shown him many such stories—there are people with Heavenly fate, who are blessed with both talent and fortune and he suspect Player Yuan is such guy.

Yu Rou looked at him, puzzled. "Why do you ask?"

"My family has access to miracle physicians," Rei Lin replied casually. "I was thinking of recommending them to you."

Yu Rou's eyes lit up slightly. "Really? Can we see if they can diagnose my brother?"

Before Rei Lin could answer, he asked, "But first, can you tell me one thing? Is your brother Yu Tian… is actually Player Yuan? I think he is."

Yu Rou hesitated for a moment. Then, with a resigned breath, she nodded. "Yes, he is. But can you not tell anyone? You have already seen how on internet all those big families are after him."

Rei Lin chuckled lightly. "Don't worry. I'm not here to expose him. If anything, I think he might become my rival."
