The first rays of sunlight crept over the hills surrounding Greenhollow.
Unlike the previous mornings, there was a quiet anticipation in the air.
The village was waking as it always had, but for John and his companions, today marked the end of a chapter in their journey.
John stood outside the inn with his travel pack resting beside him.
He looked up at the clear sky and took a slow breath.
"...Time to move forward."
Behind him, the inn's door opened.
Lythriel stepped outside, fastening the cloak around her shoulders.
She noticed John staring toward the eastern road.
"You've been awake for a while."
John smiled.
"I couldn't sleep much after last night."
She walked over to stand beside him.
"...Me neither."
Neither of them said anything else.
There wasn't much to say.
Some places had a way of becoming important before you even realized it.
Greenhollow was one of those places.

Breakfast was quieter than usual.
