The latter half of Claudio's speech seemed pointed, and upon hearing it, both Gars and Allister appeared contemplative, finally ceasing their argument.
Claudio then added, "I propose that Sir Duren continues the investigation. He was Father's Imperial Guard Captain, and most loyal to Father. I trust he will also remain impartial in the investigation."
"But Father was poisoned under his watch; even if he is not connected to the murderer, he cannot escape blame for this matter," Allister remarked, snorting coldly.
"Then whom do you suggest should conduct the investigation?" Gars said, his gaze sweeping over the several Imperial Ministers present, none of whom spoke up.
