Right now, Jiu Nian just wants to eliminate the Black Mountain Demon King.
In terms of strength, he doesn't think much of the Black Mountain Demon King; apart from the roots, the Black Mountain Demon King is nothing to him.
However, now being coerced by the Black Mountain Demon King, Jiu Nian must either go and rescue, allowing the Demon King along with its true form to withdraw, or wash his hands of it and face the consequences of breaching an agreement.
Both options are somewhat challenging.
He once paid the price for arrogance, and now, with his nose in the air, he finds himself in a similar predicament again.
To distinguish, last time could barely be said to be a momentary oversight; now it's because Jiu Nian refuses self-reflection, never considering there's an issue with himself, still thinking he's the one deceived.
Though being schemed against is problematic in itself...
These guys find it hard to reflect upon this matter.
