After Jimmy left Dave's office, he went straight downstairs to go home. On the way home, Jimmy kept pondering what exactly Dave meant.
At the end, Dave told him to stay updated on the case progress but didn't assign any tasks, making Jimmy feel that Dave perhaps had more to say.
Earlier, he just asked Jimmy's opinion about the case. Jimmy recalled his response, which seemed fine, but he still couldn't grasp Dave's intention.
This feeling of being cornered made Jimmy uncomfortable; he couldn't predict the bosses' thoughts, nor could he prepare a plan in advance. Once Dave and the others assigned a task, he'd have to improvise.
When he got home, Nia saw Jimmy with a furrowed brow. Without asking the reason, she handed him a glass of whiskey.
Holding the glass, Jimmy pulled Nia onto the sofa, "You know what? Today a Senator died at the Empire State Building."
Nia nodded, leaning against Jimmy, "I heard, they say it was done by your people."
