The flight was cruising smoothly at ten thousand meters, enveloped in darkness outside, where nothing could be seen. The plane felt like it was flying in an endless dark world towards an unknown space. Only the red lights on its wings blinked intermittently, weak yet glaring in the infinite dark space, like a fighter challenging the dark night sky.
Inside the cabin, it was quiet. The passengers were asleep, slumping in various directions. Some even snored lightly. Others who couldn't fall asleep were watching in-flight movies or listening to music. A few simply got up to stretch, standing in the aisle to move their legs and bend their backs. Occasionally, a flight attendant would come by to check things, readjusting the blankets of those whose had slipped off, or assisting those in need. Everything was peaceful, as if nothing had happened earlier.
