Two months later, a military research base in the Northwest.
The base was built in a valley, surrounded by mountains. The mountains suffered serious desertification, with few trees and only some wilting dry grass despairingly hanging their heads. The entire base could only be accessed by a dirt road, which was relatively flat. The dirt road had three checkpoints and was heavily guarded. Heavy troops were also deployed within the valley, with various monitoring and detection equipment. It was heavily guarded, impossible for even birds to enter.
In the late night, moonlight bathed the valley base gently. Occasionally, patrol teams with dog escorts could be seen passing by. Other than this, the surroundings were tranquil, only disturbed by the calls of carefree crickets, which ironically made the valley seem even quieter.
