The henchmen saw the ground covered with purple vines, and everyone was stunned. They looked at each other, wide-eyed and perplexed, not knowing what to do. Despite holding guns in their hands, they still lost their composure.
Given that the enemy is unknown, they can only annihilate them, like the dark forest theory in "The Three-Body Problem," which roughly describes a universe with many life forms, akin to a jungle with many hunters, some of whom carry hunting rifles.
And none of them know the other's intentions - whether friendly, vicious, pretending to be friendly but actually hostile, or seemingly harmless but in fact a killing spree.
Meanwhile, resources in the forest are limited, and everyone's sole purpose is to survive. Therefore, when facing unknown adversaries, the only solution is to eliminate them.
