Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 The Venomous Vixen!

"Heh, darling, look at him. Doesn't he look like a dog? A pathetic, groveling dog!"

The woman was shamelessly mocking her own husband.

Her husband, Yang Qi, was pinned to the ground by bodyguards, covered in blood. He had clearly been brutally beaten. His eyes blazed with an intense rage, as if he wanted to devour her whole!

How hateful!

This woman, posing so seductively with a flirtatious smile, was his own wife! Her name was Li Qiutong!

At this moment, she was clinging to another man like a timid little bird. The sight was nauseating!

"Li Qiutong, why? Haven't I been good to you?"

"We dated for three years and have been married for five! I gave you the best of everything! I made your Li Family one of the elites of Kang City, a model of incredible success in everyone's eyes!"

"But why?!"

"Wasn't I good enough for you?"

"Why did you betray me? Why are you having this sleazy affair with that scoundrel, Zhang Peng?!" Yang Qi roared, his face a mask of grief and anger.

"Why? There's no need for so many questions," Li Qiutong said, looking down on him with an indifferent expression. "When Young Master Zhang first offered to buy your company, you should have just cooperated obediently! Water flows to lower ground, and people climb to higher places. I know you've been very good to me, but I refuse to waste my prime on you. I intend to climb higher. And Young Master Zhang is my choice!"

"Li Qiutong, where is your conscience?"

"Most of the money I've earned over the years was spent on your Li Family, transforming it from an ordinary household into one of the most prominent families in Kang City! To make you comfortable, I hired three maids so you would never have to lift a finger. You could do whatever you pleased, living a life without a single care! I work myself to death at the office every day, then spend what little time I have left with you because I'm afraid you'll get lonely."

"And this is how you repay me?"

"I admit, you have been very good to me!" Li Qiutong said with a faint smile, pursing her lips. "However, your usefulness has run its course. That ended the moment Young Master Zhang approached me. That's when I knew my new life was about to begin. You are impressive and successful! But unfortunately for you, no matter how hard you work for the rest of your life, you'll never catch up to Young Master Zhang. All I have to do is marry him."

"Oh, and by the way, did you know that the new drug you were developing has already been produced? It's even been approved by the Lin Family of Jingzhou. That's the Lin Family of Jingzhou! One of the most powerful families in the Dragon Country and an absolute overlord of the pharmaceutical industry! They plan to collaborate with the Zhang Family to co-develop this new drug and, of course, all the other great things you've researched. In that regard, you still have some use!"

"Heh heh, my darling is right!" Zhang Peng said, puffing on his cigar as he looked down at Yang Qi with contempt. "I'll give you a chance to live. Become my slave for life and develop new drugs for me. I guarantee you'll at least get to eat and drink your fill every day. You'll live like a dog! HAHAHA! By the way, several of your colleagues have already joined my company. You should be more like them."

"Ptui!"

Yang Qi spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva and said coldly, "Li Qiutong, Zhang Peng, you'd better remember this. I, Yang Qi, will never forget today's humiliation. Even if I have to become a vengeful ghost, I will never let you off! Never!"

"You won't get the chance!" Zhang Peng laughed lightly. "You're a worthless piece of trash now. You have no money, no house, and no reputation. You're completely finished in Kang City, known only as a despicable thief who plagiarized other people's technology! What can you possibly do? Even in death, you'll be thrown into the eighteenth layer of hell! Rest assured, I will take your technology and have a very fruitful collaboration with the Lin Family of Jingzhou."

Listening to Zhang Peng's words, Yang Qi's heart went cold with despair.

His company was supposed to be the one to partner with the Lin Family of Jingzhou!

He was once a business prodigy, a top expert in the field of biopharmaceuticals. After graduating from university, he and a few classmates had single-handedly built a business empire worth more than a billion. The special drugs their company developed had the potential to change the course of humanity.

But that very technology had made him a target.

Zhang Peng, the Young Master of the Zhang Family of Kang City, coveted his technology and conspired with his own wife to frame him. Li Qiutong had exploited his trust, stealing the company's core technical data. Zhang Peng then used that stolen data to sue Yang Qi, accusing his company of plagiarism and infringement. With that single move, he destroyed the business Yang Qi had worked so hard to build.

"I won't let you get away with this! I won't let you partner with the Lin Family of Jingzhou! I swear it!" Yang Qi roared.

The Lin Family of Jingzhou was a titan in the Dragon Country, a truly terrifying power. It was said that the Lin Family had sent their most promising young lady, Lin Qingxuan, to Kang City for this very purpose—for the technology behind these new drugs.

He had painstakingly developed all of it, only for someone else to reap the rewards. He was consumed by such hatred that his eyes began to bleed!

Suddenly, a surge of strength came from nowhere. He broke free from the bodyguards' grip and charged at Zhang Peng.

But it was no use. He was beaten to the ground again. The world spun around him, and the lights swam dizzily in his vision. He fought to remain conscious.

I must survive! I must survive! Only by surviving can I get my revenge! Only then can I reclaim everything that should rightfully be mine!

"This one's a tough bastard," came Zhang Peng's voice. "What a pity. A mind that brilliant can no longer be of use to me."

"Hee hee, Young Master Zhang, look at that fierce glare in his eyes. We can't let him live. He'll surely come back for revenge," Li Qiutong giggled.

"You're right, my darling. In that case, I'll have him feed the fish in the Kang River." Zhang Peng smiled and ordered his bodyguards, "Put him in a sack and throw him into the Kang River. Be careful. Make sure no one sees you!"

"Yes, sir!" the bodyguards replied with a nod.

Yang Qi felt himself being stuffed into a sack. His head swam, and he was too weak even to struggle.

It wasn't long before he felt himself being thrown into the river. Water began to seep in through the sack. Yang Qi felt he could no longer breathe. The agony was unlike anything he had ever experienced.

Is this it? Am I going to die? How could my life be such a tragedy? My business failed, and my wife betrayed me. My life is a tragedy! Heavens, are you blind?!

Zhang Peng's bodyguards watched the sack sink beneath the surface and then left.

Yang Qi's consciousness grew dimmer and dimmer. He finally couldn't hold his breath any longer, and water flooded into his mouth. He struggled desperately, trying to tear his way out of the sack, but it was useless.

Just as he felt his life was truly over, the dragon-shaped birthmark on his body suddenly began to emit a strange glow. The mark gradually faded, melting into his flesh. He felt much better.
