That evening, as the sun dipped behind the western mountains, casting a soft golden glow across the clouds that had hung over Lothian Manor for most of the day, Adala fidgeted with one of the tiny bells at her wrist as she surveyed the chambers that she'd unintentionally taken over.
For months, since Jocelynn's arrival in Lothian Manor, these chambers had been shared by Sir Elgon and the other knights of Jocelynn's escort, and they'd slowly transformed the suite of rooms in the manor's guest wing into a 'home away from home.' Little trace of that remained, however, once Sir Elgon told his men that Lady Adala needed to borrow their chambers for the evening and why.
