Ayaka came back home when the sky was already dark. She wasn't scared though because her mother never returned early.
Lately, Mira had been working at the village hospital, though it wasn't anything impressive since she was only a runner who transported documents, medical supplies, and whatever else was needed around the small hospital.
But Saturdays were always different. Mira would come home much later than usual and always claimed she was praying at a large temple.
Ayaka never understood it. What kind of prayer only happened in the middle of the night?
Then again, she didn't care enough to think about it anymore. Mira wasn't her real mother anyway.
She was just a loser, a monster who made her life miserable, and after meeting Mina today, Ayaka no longer cared about her at all.
