Chapter 15
Blue eyes.... those enchanting pool of crystalline water, they reminded her of the reflection of the full moon on the Ocean surface. They were so full of life, then there was his lashes...so indecently long and thick for a man. She had never seen anyome like him before. It felt as though the world had stood still and faded out leaving both of them in their own little paradise, a world where just the two of them existed.
Kaiden stood still as if frozen but his eyes told a different story, with excitement and pure euphoria clearly visible in his eyes.
"My mate". He breathes out before reaching out his hands. Arina flinched, confusion clearly written in her eyes, like an infectious disease, it spreads to Kaiden as he too looks confused. '_What's happening, does she not feel it, doesn't she want me_'. Hurt flashes through his eyes as he lowered his hands. Something stirred in Arina,....heartache. Her heart ached seeing him hurt. Her hand moved on it's own accord and before she could catch her own hand. It was already on Kaiden's cheek, softly caressing it in it's own strange show of intimacy.
Kaiden's eyes brightened up and he pulled her into his embrace. Arina was about to scream at him, when she suddenly melted into his arms. A feeling of satisfaction rose up in her heart,a feeling of....home.
" My mate!!!" Kaiden screamed, his voice firm and full of power as he raised her hand in the air. Only Arina knew how much care and gentleness he put in that simple gesture, like her gand was the most fragile glass that could break anytime.
King Damien rushed over along with Prince Sirius. As soon as his eyes fell on Arina who was still strangely enjoying the comfort of the crown Prince's embrace. His eyes visibly lit up as he smiled.
" Congratulations, Crown Prince Kaiden on finding your mate. Although I could never imagine that the fine lady my queen saved would be your mate, I'm glade she did".
'_mate?,' Arina thought to herself as the gears in her head were working overdrive, trying to remember where she had heard that word. *Gasp*.. suddenly it clicked, when she read the ancient books in the library she fud come across 'mate' but judging from the circumstances surrounding her arrival in thus world, she didn't think she would ever have a mate. And as if to ctown her troubles up, her mate was a freaking crown prince. Ugh..she could already feel the coming troubles she would face. '_Goodbye sweet simple life, I'll always cherish you_'
'Damn you, narcissist bastard' she cursed in her heart.
"Saved? You said, what happened to my mate."
"I'm sorry Crown prince but I believe that this isn't the right place to discuss that."
Kaiden looked at Arina -who had freed herself from his strange yet relaxing embrace- to find her gaze locked on the crown Prince of Fire. When her gaze landed on Prince Sirius, she felt that familiar feeling of pain rising in her heart, She stared at those dark orbs of his that always looked indecipherable, now gleamed with confusion before slowly widening in realization. Just as Arina was wondering what that meant. His eyes showed another strange emotion... satisfaction. She knew he was also staring at her eyes and he could see the questions clearly written there.
This was the scene Kaiden saw when he looked down. His eyes shot to Sirius but the man's usual stoic face was on.
"What's wrong dear?," Kaiden asked trying to sense her emotions through their mate bond.
" Um..it's nothing, it's nothing." Arina stuttered.
Kaiden looked towards the fire King and said.
"Please excuse us." Saying that he walked away hand in hand with Arina.
Soon they were out of the hall and walking around the palace.
"So.. mate, may I know your name?" Kaiden asked, his attention solely on her as they walked.
" Arina." She answered curtly.
" A-ri-na...Arina" His lips like a sort caress to her name. Her breath hitched. The sound of her name from his lips sent a weird sensation down her spine.
