Orpheus was waiting,
To take the sacred vows of marriage.
His lover Eurydice, dressed in white,
Was crossing the floral passage.
Then disaster struck hard,
And a snake bit her.
The venom took her life,
And this made his life bitter.
He went down to the underworld,
To bring her soul back with him.
His chords touched the heart of Hades,
Bringing out the lover within.
So Hades agreed to set her free,
Ordering Orpheus not to look back.
He heard her voice and turned around,
Only to see her vanish on the track.
