Chapter 448 - Ch.448 Batman vs. Batman

[You have been eliminated, unable to obtain a Resurrection Match slot, reward: Purification +1.]

[Remaining 146 retries, would you like to restart?]

Restart!

Apokolips.

"Darkseid, I'm here to negotiate terms."

The familiar line echoed, but after the battle, the dialogue shifted.

"A Batman from another universe?"

Darkseid mused over Spider-Man's mention of Batman, his eyes glowing with Omega Beams that vanished into the void.

Soon, he retracted the Omega Beams, grasping the events unfolding in the multiverse.

As the sole New God of the multiverse, little could evade his gaze when he chose to look.

"I see. Indeed, the Laughing Bat, infected by the Joker Virus, is quite intriguing."

Darkseid spoke calmly, then turned to Charlie: "But in my eyes, Superman, protected by the Source Wall, is the greatest threat."

Charlie frowned. "So you're refusing?"

Darkseid shook his head. "No, I've changed my mind."

He fixed his gaze on the solemn Spider-Man, a faint smirk curling his lips.

"The Laughing Bat's abilities are better suited to aid my plans, so Spider-Man, you're no longer useful."

Charlie: "."

"Wait, I want to know—even if the Laughing Bat's power is terrifying, he's no match for the Source Wall. Don't be so quick to eliminate me; we can still talk." He spoke hurriedly.

Darkseid's eyes flashed red. "No need. The Laughing Bat has acquired Doctor Manhattan's power, evolving into a quantum being, destined to shatter the multiverse's barriers entirely. When that happens, the Source Wall isolating the multiverse will crumble, and Superman will lose its protection."

Charlie was stunned. "Isn't that even more dangerous?"

"For you, perhaps."

Darkseid smiled. "For me, such a being will still bow to the Anti-Life Equation. He will become my ally."

Charlie forced an awkward grin.

Well, damn, that's cold.

Before he could say more, flash—the Omega Beams struck, and Charlie was back in the Cosmic Web.

Remaining 145 retries.

Failed to convince Darkseid to team up against the Laughing Bat.

Keep going!

Apokolips. "Wait, you think a corrupted Batman will submit to your Anti-Life Equation, right?"

As Darkseid prepared to act, Charlie hurriedly shared his thoughts.

"Before you kill me, you might want to confirm that."

Seeing Darkseid hesitate, Charlie let out a relieved breath.

"The Joker Virus didn't just turn Batman into a lunatic; it gave him eerie superpowers. They haven't fully manifested yet, but you must've heard of Spider-Man's abilities."

"Superpowers?"

Darkseid frowned, glancing at his subordinate.

The subordinate leaned in, whispering to Darkseid, whose expression shifted dramatically.

"Spider-Man's superpower can sense… excrement?"

He was utterly shocked.

What a disgusting ability.

But Earth's superheroes truly believed in Spider-Man's prophetic powers.

"What did you discover?" he asked Charlie.

Charlie shrugged. "I think the Laughing Bat won't submit to your Anti-Life Equation. He's an utterly chaotic, evil entity, with a mindset completely alien to normal beings."

"That's just your speculation."

"Yes, it's my speculation. But what if I'm right?"

Seeing Charlie's confident expression, Darkseid hesitated further.

"I'll test it myself."

Darkseid's eyes glowed red, and he vanished through a Boom Tube.

Moments later, he reappeared on his throne.

Now, he looked disheveled, adjusting his stone-like armor with a deep breath.

"You were right, Spider-Man."

Charlie's brows furrowed. "You okay? You should be willing to work with me now."

Was Darkseid not even a match for the Laughing Bat? Was his power level that insane?

Darkseid calmed himself, still granting Charlie the power of the Omega Beams.

"Before that lunatic completely shatters all universal barriers and destroys the Source Wall, you must convince Superman to join our side. It's the only way.

The Omega Beams are your advance payment. If you succeed, I'll grant you three million Parademon troops and rulership over a living planet."

He was finally willing to cooperate, albeit temporarily.

The Laughing Bat's abilities were too bizarre. The Anti-Life Equation was not only ineffective but, in that situation, even Darkseid couldn't handle the Laughing Legion.

It was absurd.

After much thought, he decided to use Clark's power to eliminate the Laughing Bat first.

This silent schemer had done too much already—he couldn't be allowed to grow stronger.

If left unchecked, his threat would surpass even Superman's.

With that, Darkseid looked at Spider-Man, now imbued with Omega Beams.

"I'll warn you: if the Laughing Bat corrupts you, I'll eliminate you immediately."

Charlie: "."

Darkseid's realism strikes again.

"Don't worry, I'll be careful."

Charlie opened a portal and returned to Earth.

Corruption?

He gained new insight into his Purification Power.

It could not only cleanse a corrupted Superman but also prevent himself from being controlled by the Anti-Life Equation.

Its greatest use, however, was preventing corruption by the Joker Virus! Darkseid's final warning confirmed this.

That guy must've suffered under the Joker Virus's influence, or he wouldn't have bothered with such a reminder.

With this realization, Charlie felt confident.

This time, purify the Laughing Bat! Haha, time to stack attributes and clear this level—didn't see that coming.

Charlie was certain of victory.

First, he took out Doctor Doom to prevent any interference.

Then he found Clark.

"Hey, buddy, I need a favor."

Clark, busy at the farm, turned to Charlie. "What favor?"

"Help me take down Batman."

Clark: "."

He sighed helplessly. "He killed me once, but he's not a bad guy."

Charlie rolled his eyes. "Your saintly attitude is why Batman took you out.

But don't worry, it's not your Batman—it's one from another universe."

"Another Batman?" Clark was bewildered.

Charlie nodded. "Yeah, it's complicated. Let's go find Bruce, Diana, and the others."

"Alright."

Soon, at Charlie's call, Diana and the others gathered at Bruce's manor.

Looking at the superheroes assembled in the garden, Bruce Wayne felt a headache coming on.

Whenever these guys showed up together, it was never good news.

Well, same goes for him.

"You called me?"

Bruce stepped forward, instructing the butler to brew coffee for everyone.

"I'll take juice, freshly squeezed," Charlie raised his hand.

Bruce nodded. "I'll arrange it. Now, what's this about?"

Three minutes later.

"A Laughing Bat infected by the Joker Virus?"

Bruce Wayne tensed.

Charlie stood, saying, "Don't panic. Let's try this first."

He placed a hand on Bruce's shoulder, Purification Power surging into him.

Hum~

A faint glow entered Bruce Wayne's body, instantly purging the still-mild Joker Virus.

His body relaxed, and Bruce's expression shifted.

"It worked!" He exhaled, his tense nerves finally easing.

"Alright, I trust you."

Wayne turned to Charlie. "You plan to use this to purify that guy?"

"It's a preliminary plan, not a hundred percent certain," Charlie admitted.

Wayne's lips curled into a confident smirk.

"No problem. With me on board, your odds are a hundred percent."

Charlie's eyes lit up at those words.

"With you saying that, I'm relieved."

Thus, the group began preparations.

Spider-Man's 28th day in the DC Universe.

Also the final day of the mission deadline.

Today, the Laughing Bat would arrive.

Wahahaha~~

Atop a skyscraper, the Laughing Bat slowly emerged from twisted void.

In his view, everything here was so fresh.

So, he would make it all rot!

Creating one despair-filled, dark world after another—that was his ultimate goal.

Let's begin now!

He took a deep breath, pinpointing Lois's scent in the air.

Kill Superman first, then corrupt this world's Wayne.

The moment he locked onto Lois, a familiar yet strange scent hit his nose.

The Laughing Bat froze, then burst into wild laughter.

"Ahahaha, interesting, interesting."

His unbridled, chilling laughter echoed across the city, followed by endless black clouds sweeping the sky.

As despair and darkness spread, Clark and the others, hiding nearby, paled.

"Damn, he's spotted us—go!"

Instantly, Clark charged at the Laughing Bat, sonic booms erupting in the city.

BOOM!!

With a thunderous crash, lightning flashed as the Flash, running alongside, glanced at the speeding Clark.

They exchanged a nod in a split second, flanking the cackling Laughing Bat from both sides.

BOOM!!

The skyscraper exploded violently, and both Clark and the Flash vanished in an instant, leaving only the Laughing Bat's manic laughter.

In a van on the street, Wayne watched the scene unfold on a computer, calmly raising his comm.

"They've been sent to another universe. Team Two, move out."

"Understood."

Immediately, the concrete ceiling beneath the Laughing Bat exploded, and Diana swung her divine sword at him.

At the same time, a portal bloomed on the lower floor, endless seawater surging under Arthur's command, vowing to drown the Laughing Bat in an infinite ocean.

Yet, despite the overwhelming assault, the Laughing Bat's piercing laughter persisted.

The next moment, the skyscraper was swept into the sky by the flood, Diana's sword slashing past, grazing the street.

The Laughing Bat was intangible, like air, untouchable by any attack.

He seized Diana's throat with five fingers, letting her struggle.

"Ahahahaha~ Wonder Woman, you're mine!!"

With that, he tossed Diana into the darkness, then raised both hands, the entire city trembling in the shadows.

BOOM!!

Suddenly, black stone pillars formed from countless dark spores rose from the ground, the Joker Virus spreading wildly in the storm.

"Hahaha, join me in madness!!"

The Laughing Bat cackled as countless citizens lost their sanity in despair.

They tore at each other, abandoning morality, love, friendship, and family in their frenzy.

They reveled in freedom, experiencing joy and ease like never before.

But— "This is wrong!"

Zzzzt~~

With a shout, lightning swept through the void, and one Flash after another shot out, slamming into the Laughing Bat's body.

Zzzzt~Pfft pfft pfft!!

Sparks flew as the Laughing Bat's body trembled under the lightning's impact.

He couldn't count how many Flashes there were.

He only knew it was time to end this.

BOOM!!

Finally, the Laughing Bat's body disintegrated into particles under the lightning's assault.

The Flashes, panting heavily, stood together, exchanging victorious smiles.

"Great job. This ambush was absolutely perfect."

Spider-Man appeared.

Charlie praised the Flashes, then added, "Now we need to figure out how to rescue Clark and the others. That's true perfection."

"Ahahaha, too bad you won't get that chance."

An eerie laugh rang out, and the scattered particles reformed into the Laughing Bat.

Charlie's face changed, and he unleashed the Twelve Talismans, shattering the Laughing Bat's body.

BOOM!!

The Laughing Bat collapsed, but everyone's expressions remained grim.

"Damn, this guy might be immortal."

As one Flash spoke, he approached Charlie, then revealed a sinister grin.

"Hahahaha, Spider-Man, got you."

BOOM!!

Darkness surged, and Charlie found himself in a ruined universe.

A terrifying maw appeared, but Charlie suddenly grew calm.

"I hear your Laughing Virus is pretty impressive. Care to try corrupting me?" he smirked.

At that, the Laughing Bat doubled over with laughter.

"Hahaha, such a basic taunt—I won't fall for it."

He clutched his stomach, his body twisting as he cackled.

"Hahaha~ Invincible Spider-Man, the moment I saw you, I knew the Laughing Virus couldn't touch you. So, death is your only path."

Charlie's smile didn't waver. "Is it?"

Seeing Charlie's grin, the Laughing Bat's laughter faded.

"You—"

"That's right, me."

Charlie raised his hand, counting to three in front of him.

"One."

"Wait, let me think." The Laughing Bat panicked, tapping his head as he replayed the battle. "Damn, I've been tricked. When did it happen…"

"Two." Charlie retracted a second finger.

The Laughing Bat grew more frantic.

He bared his black teeth, roaring, "I said wait, didn't you hear me?!"

In that roaring instant, the abyssal maw surged down.

"Three!"

As Charlie spoke, the maw froze in midair, the black mist around the Laughing Bat grew chaotic, and the metal visor over his eyes cracked and shattered.

Crack crack~Bang!

Finally, the Laughing Bat collapsed to his knees, his pale face regaining color, the red lipstick fading.

His black teeth fell out, black blood oozing from his mouth, his bloodshot eyes filled with disbelief.

"Impossible! How did you do it?!" he roared, clutching his head.

Seeing the Purification Power take effect, Charlie clapped and laughed.

"Batman knows Batman best. So, Batman, you were outwitted by Batman."

The Laughing Bat's eyes widened.

"No!!"
