Valery left, and when Victor tried to follow her, he was stopped by the soldiers. The soldiers placed their bodies in front of Victor, blocking his path. Their expressions remained serious, but they did not try to use force; they simply prevented him from passing by using their bodies.
"You cannot go any further. This is a restricted area for everyone," replied the soldier who stopped him, giving Victor a complex look.
What he had just done made everyone look at him strangely. The murmurs began to subside when Valery left, many of them directed at Victor and the rest at the magic Valery had displayed.
"Did you see him stop the stones in midair? That's vampire magic. How terrifying!" exclaimed a woman.
"How stupid was he to stand in front of her to protect her?"
"Don't you realize that our people have died because of them, that we lost our homes because of them!" she growled angrily as she looked at Victor with disapproval.
