Valery's story went on for three days without a break. During those days, Valery accompanied Adelaide to work and they always stayed in a private place where no one could hear them. Adelaide was not as efficient during those days, as her main priority was to listen to Valery.
It would have been disrespectful to ask her and then not pay attention. So she listened carefully to her story, which Valery called "her past life."
"Thank you," Adelaide said as she watched Valery pause at one point in the story.
The story stopped just as she took a step toward divinity.
"I think it all makes sense now," Adelaide said as she took the papers she was reviewing and arranged them with a tap on the table.
"You think so?" Valery asked with a complicated look, much more emotional than with other vampires close to her.
