Luca took a step back, putting some distance between himself and Lucas.
Although Lucas had just spoken in a logical and orderly manner, that alone could not prove he hadn't already turned into a monster.
"We do indeed need to cooperate fully," Luca said coldly, "but I think it's best we keep a proper distance between us."
Lucas, though somewhat anxious, knew he couldn't demand more. He himself had noticed that there was something strange about his own condition.
So he nodded and replied, "I understand. I'll keep an appropriate distance from you."
Thus, the two of them continued moving deeper into the pitch-black passage, keeping several meters apart.
This time, they did not travel long in the darkness. Barely a quarter of an hour later, they reached the end of the shadowy corridor.
Before them stretched a vast underground hall.
The entire hall was cluttered with chairs scattered in disorder.
Some of the chairs even had people seated in them.
