The atmosphere in the Nigerian dressing room was slightly tense.

In their history of the FIFA World Cup, Nigeria had never made it to the Quarterfinal stage of the FIFA World Cup, they always stumbled at the Round of 16 stage, falling to superior opponents.
The first time that Nigeria got to the Round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup was the World Cup in 1994, and then they reached the same stage in the next World Cup in 1998.
Those were the golden Nigerian squads.
The only other time that Nigeria made it to the Round of 16 stage of the FIFA World Cup was back in 2014 in Brazil.
But here, tonight, this Nigerian squad already wrote their name in legend as they've made it farther than any other Nigerian football squad, riding all the way to the Quarterfinal stage.
The only question tonight was, could they do it?
Could they progress?
Could they write more history?
Only time would tell.
