The phase beast convulsed as the lightning surged through his head and then it suddenly stilled as rainbow magics drilled into his abdomen. The lightning and the rainbow magics seemed to meet and feed off of each other and the phase beast fell forward onto the ground, never to move again.
The second aspect of the phase beast stopped in mid motion. His arms raised and fists balled tightly, mere micro millimeters from the barrier that it had just been pounding. It roared in fury as the third aspect narrowed its eyes, focusing on both Rachel and Caleb.
The barrier enclosing the second aspect of the phase beast shimmered and faded from existence like a watercolor sliding down a poorly kept canvas. The second aspect of the phase beast bellowed again and pounded its chest as if it were a massive gorilla and it ran towards Rachel and Caleb.
