The limousine waited exactly where they had left it. The driver stood by the door, his expression patient, his hands clasped behind his back. He opened the rear door without a word but nodded politely at Kyle.
He knew he had to work for tips even though these type of services always provided such, it was on the high end and clients knew their lives were basically in the hands of the driver at this point but also confidentiality even though Kyle had nothing to be confidential about.
Kyle slid inside first, Jane still cradled in his arms. He settled into the cream leather seat and adjusted her against his chest, making sure she was comfortable. Her head lolled against his shoulder, her breath warm against his neck.
"Home, sir?" the driver asked. He didn't mind waiting because he was glad he got such kind people as customers today.
"Home," Kyle confirmed. "But slow. Take the scenic route. She's sleeping."
The driver nodded and closed the door.
