Marcello was worried with the way things were unfolding, but nothing was getting in the way of his goals. He needed the other bosses to yield, because he was determined to use the same system he had used to overrun the Mafia with these men. They were absorbed into his cell and given a percentage, mostly keeping the same level of income thanks to the expanded mode of operation.
He knew he couldn't take away the source of their income and this was why he planned to leave it under their management except they now had access to routes owned by the Mafia, making it possible to ship even more products but at a percentage.
But pride and ego wouldn't let them see straight, especially after that little game they pulled by trying to kill one of their own.
