Babydoll glanced at Brandon as he sat opposite her on the plush gray couch.
He had barely moved in the past hour. One arm rested lazily against the backrest while the other held his phone, his thumb scrolling through something on the screen with slow, deliberate movements. His expression was neutral, almost bored, as if the world outside the loft apartment simply didn't exist.
Babydoll sighed quietly.
She was bored.
They had spent the entire day inside the apartment doing absolutely nothing. No plans. No action. Just waiting.
Waiting was something Babydoll hated.
She stretched her legs across the coffee table and tilted her head, watching Brandon for another moment before suddenly speaking.
"Let's go out."
Brandon's scrolling stopped.
Slowly, he lifted his eyes toward her, one eyebrow rising in mild curiosity.
"Why would we do that?" he asked flatly, already looking back down at his phone. "Shouldn't we be making plans for Saturday?"
Babydoll rolled her eyes dramatically.
