Chapter 121 - Chapter 117. S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Discovery

In the Mexican city of XX, a security zone had been established at the site of the destruction caused by the battle between the Hulk and the mutated dogs. A fence was erected around the hazardous area, prohibiting access to civilians. Signs warned of radiation danger, and numerous personnel in hazmat suits, holding detectors, examined the ruins for potentially contaminated objects.

Usually, the Hulk's transformation didn't cause this level of contamination. The main reason for the current situation was the two mutated dogs. During the fight with the Hulk, their blood and saliva splattered everywhere. These fluids were saturated with gamma radiation, posing a serious threat to the environment and human health.

After S.H.I.E.L.D. agents cordoned off the scene, they discovered the problem and urgently requested hazmat suits and detectors. Those agents who had already entered the destruction zone were quarantined and released only after their health was confirmed.

Currently, S.H.I.E.L.D. researchers were extracting and analyzing blood samples left on the ruins to determine their origin.

Outside the cordoned-off area, several agents in black suits, without hazmat gear, stood near the warning signs. Their stern appearance and dark glasses made them seem unapproachable. Despite the interest of onlookers, many people filmed the scene with their phones, but the agents didn't interfere. They had already blocked off an entire street and couldn't block off the entire area.

"Yes, this area is saturated with various contaminants. According to our researchers, they contain a high concentration of gamma radiation," an agent in a suit, standing next to a warning sign, held a phone in his hand and reported to his superiors.

"Understood, I'll be in touch," the agent said, putting away the phone after finishing the report. He and his colleagues then engaged in casual conversation.

Meanwhile, at the S.H.I.E.L.D. office, Agent Phil Coulson, not currently on assignment, was carefully studying some documents.

"Boss, I think you should take a look at this," an agent approached Coulson, holding several documents, and placed them on the table in front of him.

"Good afternoon, Ward," Coulson greeted him with a smile, picking up the documents.

"These are materials sent from our branch office," Agent Ward explained.

Coulson immersed himself in reading, and his expression gradually became more serious.

"Gamma radiation... Is it that green goliath again?" He immediately thought of the Hulk.

S.H.I.E.L.D. had been investigating Bruce Banner for a long time, but due to General Ross's interference, the agents couldn't act directly. Before Ross captured Banner, S.H.I.E.L.D. tracked his location, but after he escaped from Ross's military base again, the agents temporarily lost his trail. Nick Fury had ordered them to accelerate the search, as Banner was one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s key persons of interest.

"Agent Ward, you can go back to your duties; I need to report to the Director," Coulson said, putting the documents together.

"Understood, boss," Ward nodded and left the office.

When Ward left, Coulson headed to Nick Fury's office. Information about such important individuals always had to be reported to him, and he assumed this data concerned the Hulk, so he decided to discuss it with the director.

Knock-knock.

"Director, it's Coulson."

"Come in."

...

Meanwhile, our protagonist, Noah, wasn't constantly monitoring the detector readings, as no traces of gamma radiation other than Banner's own had been detected. If a target appeared, Lissandra would notify him.

Noah had already sent his latest creation, the mechanical beast Warwick from the "PROJECT" skin line, to the forest where Bruce Banner was hiding. Warwick lay in wait for the appearance of the mutated creatures, ready to hunt and destroy those it deemed prey.

Noah hoped this experiment would allow him to assess the capabilities of his creation. He had implemented numerous technologies into it, including not only the basic "PROJECT" elements but also magical powers and Hextech technology.

While waiting for a signal from the detector, he was working on a new project in his island laboratory – a large and powerful mechanical creature.

He held a blueprint depicting his next creation – a Hextech Tyrannosaurus Rex. This beast, inspired by Heimerdinger's memories of Hextech machinery, would possess immense firepower and incredible strength.

Noah, preparing for the approaching "Battle of New York," decided to strengthen his forces. He wanted to see what would be stronger: the Chitauri Leviathans or his own Hextech Tyrannosaurus.

The underground base on the island had been significantly expanded to create space for the production of giant mechanisms. In the deserted laboratory, Blitzcrank, along with numerous nanobots, moved materials, delivering them to the center of the lab. These materials were intended for assembling the Hextech Tyrannosaurus.

For him, this project was based on a ready-made schematic created by Heimerdinger. But he decided to add his own touch, so he had to modify the blueprint slightly.

Time slowly passed, and soon night fell. An atmosphere of vice reigned in the region known as the "Golden Triangle." This place was a hub for drug lords and military dictators, as poppies had historically been cultivated and drugs produced here, making the region one of the largest drug trafficking centers in the world.

"Aaah!!!"

A final, deathly scream echoed from the hideout of a major drug lord, after which not a single living creature remained in the entire camp, except for the man in black armor.

"The souls here are surprisingly high-quality," Noah said with slight surprise, finishing absorbing the soul of the last target with his artifact, the Dark Seal.

Lately, he had felt that his actions in Hell's Kitchen using the Dark Seal were starting to attract attention. So he decided to change his operating area, choosing a region full of villains where the deaths of many people wouldn't raise any questions. And his choice fell on the Golden Triangle – a place known for its depravity.

He asked Lissandra to find a drug lord's hideout near him. After receiving the assignment, he launched a powerful aerial attack: missiles and lasers completely destroyed the camp, and the Dark Seal absorbed the souls of everyone present.

To his surprise, the souls of some people in this place brought him more power than usual. He couldn't understand the reason. Perhaps, because they had committed so many atrocities, their souls were heavily burdened with sins? It seemed too mystical to him, and he didn't understand much about souls.

Although the missions here were also classified as C-rank, the rewards were slightly higher than those in Hell's Kitchen, which Noah noticed after comparing the results of completing missions.

A C-rank mission, 200 points. This was probably the maximum reward for a mission of this level. After all, the criminals in the "Golden Triangle" were much better armed, and he found a lot of heavy weaponry among the ruins. But because of his aerial attack, they didn't have the slightest chance to use these weapons – they were sent straight to hell.

As Noah was about to destroy the remnants of the camp, he heard Lissandra's voice:

"Noah, the detector has found a target."
