Chapter 251 - Chapter 251: The Wizarding World's Television

"Two-Way Mirror trial?" Ryan recalled for a moment: "I think Fred mentioned it. The two-way mirror you're making this time seems to transmit images from one to many?"

"Yes, exactly," Wade explained. "It's like Muggle television programs. One main mirror acts as the broadcasting station, while many smaller mirrors serve as the televisions."

"Does that mean all the wizards in Britain can watch our competition?"

Ryan immediately felt immense pressure. His eyes uneasily darted toward Harry and the others, who were busy discussing preparations for the competition.

Everyone seems so excited and have been preparing for so long. If I say I want to withdraw now… would that be unethical?

Wade smiled. "If everything goes smoothly, wizards worldwide should be able to see the same broadcast in the future. But this time, the smaller mirrors will only be tested by the employees of the Aslan Magical Workshop…

Of course, Remus and Sirius can watch too."

Ryan secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Great, he wouldn't have to struggle between friendship and his own feelings.

Though there would still be some additional viewers, compared to all the wizards in Britain, Ryan found this scenario much more acceptable.

Once his worries subsided, his curiosity began to take over.

"Will the smaller mirrors be sold in shops like televisions in the future?"

"Of course," Wade replied.

"So, we'll be able to see Celestina singing in them, and we might even…"

He thought back to a Muggle television program he had seen before.

"…see Mr. Bean getting his tooth fixed?"

"That's a TV Show. It's a collection of fragmented scenes acted out based on a script, filmed, and edited. But two-way mirrors can only do live broadcasts, transmitting everything happening in front of the main mirror in real-time to all the smaller mirrors."

Ryan listened, half understanding.

Wade, however, was more surprised.

He knew Ryan's grandmother was a Muggle, and his father was a Muggle-born wizard, so their family had quite a few Muggle relatives. Yet Ryan's understanding of Muggles seemed about the same as the Weasleys, who were "Muggle enthusiasts."

He knew a bit on the surface, but his understanding wasn't deep.

So Wade explained the difference again in simpler terms.

He then added, "Of course, events like tournaments, which are suitable for broadcasting, are relatively rare. So I was thinking, we could use the main mirror to retransmit Muggle television programs. That way, the electronic signals wouldn't be affected by magical interference."

The most wonderful part was that they could freely choose television programs from all over the world without having to pay for broadcasting rights.

This could also help the magical community better understand the lives of ordinary people, avoiding embarrassing misunderstandings like not knowing the difference between pajamas and formal wear, even though they were neighbors.

— This was the reasoning Wade used to convince Dumbledore to approve his experiment.

Although Wade felt that if he had directly asked, the Headmaster probably wouldn't have refused, certain instincts ingrained in his nature still led him to present a more legitimate and grandiose justification.

"Then I must buy a smaller mirror. During the summer holidays, make sure to broadcast Mr. Bean! I've seen two episodes at my uncle's house, but I never got the chance to finish them," Ryan said eagerly.

"Of course. We'll definitely include all kinds of excellent Muggle TV programs."

Wade suddenly realized his response sounded overly "official," likely a habit he picked up from corresponding with Mr. Marchionne, and he hadn't yet adjusted back.

He cleared his throat. "I'll let you know in advance… How about two episodes a day?"

Ryan thought for a moment. "Actually… I could watch it all day long."

He blinked at Wade, his meaning clear.

Wade laughed heartily. "Alright! Then we'll keep it running until you're tired of it. We can even replay it two or three times… I'm sure plenty of people will enjoy it."

Wizarding entertainment options were actually quite limited.

Though Wade thought magic was the most fascinating thing in the world, for most wizards, this innate power was as ordinary as air—essential, but not particularly thrilling.

A magical radio was already a major source of leisure for many households.

Wade could almost envision the explosive popularity of the two-way mirrors once they launched.

Suddenly, Theo, who had been silently listening for an unknown amount of time, said, "In that case, the name 'two-way mirror' doesn't seem very fitting. Maybe you should give it a special name."

Wade considered this and said, "How about Streaming Mirror? After all, it's essentially streaming media technology."

Unfortunately, no one present understood what "streaming media" meant, so Theo and Ryan both gave him blank but polite smiles.

"Sounds good," they said.

Time flew by, and many students felt like they had only just managed to hastily assemble their teams when mid-May arrived.

During this period, Wade and the Weasley twins made time to visit Hogsmeade and further discuss the details of the Streaming Mirror's first broadcast with Marchionne.

Marchionne dispatched dozens of employees carrying smaller mirrors of various sizes to different locations in Britain and neighboring countries to test the broadcast's performance.

In Lupin's living room, Wade formally signed a contract with the Weasley twins.

"If the income is good, just give us a share."

George, who had only just started making money from his school ventures, felt a little embarrassed. He scratched his face and said: "Most of the Streaming Mirror idea was yours, and without your alchemy skills, we couldn't have pulled it off."

"We're friends, so there's no need to be overly concerned about these things," Fred added. "And being able to complete this project is the greatest reward for me!"

Before Wade could respond, Marchionne, who was sitting nearby, chuckled.

"It's precisely because you're friends that you need to establish clear principles of distribution from the beginning. That way, there won't be conflicts in the future."

He looked at the two budding alchemists with a gentle smile and said:

"You've both worked hard and deserve to be rewarded. Even the smallest contribution is part of the success. If there's only effort without any reward, everything will eventually collapse, including your friendship."

The twins exchanged a glance. They weren't entirely convinced that they would change in the future, but they still found his words strangely persuasive.

Marchionne smiled and continued, "Of course, this is just advice from someone older. I've seen too many situations like this, so I couldn't help but offer a warning. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide how to proceed."

The twins turned to Wade, who nodded in agreement, his gaze was earnest and sincere.

How strange.

Though he was clearly younger, he seemed like an elder, exuding a natural authority that made others trust him.

The twins picked up their quills.
