Xia Yu blinked rapidly, the aftershock of adrenaline beginning to wear off. Her heartbeat still thundered in her ears, but now it was embarrassment creeping in.
Her whole body felt flushed, her skin burning, and her lips tingled from the kiss that had stolen her breath and, perhaps, a little bit of her common sense.
Her eyes darted everywhere but his face, and her hands awkwardly clutched at the front of his shirt like they had a mind of their own.
Han Zhou leaned back slightly to get a better look at her, and a low, warm chuckle escaped his lips. He looked devastatingly charming.
"You look like a tomato," he said with a grin, his voice like velvet wrapped around laughter.
She looked up at him then, startled and angry. "Are you making fun of me?" but looking at his eyes, she felt lost.
The way his dark hair fell across his forehead, just barely tousled from the kiss. His eyes, deep and dark like midnight skies, held an amused glint.
