Chapter 2 - The Harper Family.

I'm not in my room, I'm not even in my house any more. I find myself in front of this huge mansion in some stupid pink top and blue baggy jeans with a backpack.

My head hurts and that's when I realise I'm on some manicured lawn, what on earth is going on.

"You're going to be entertainment for the gods." Lucia's words suddenly hitting me as I stood up with a groan. I scanned the vast garden and mansion in front of me and finally decided to go and knock on the door.

The door swung open on the third knock, a woman maybe in her late thirties opened the door, her brown hair styled in a neat bun while her red eyes stared at me with an unreadable expression. She was in a champagne V-line dress with white heels, she looked beautiful. Not as beautiful as Lucia but still beautiful enough to be on a magazine.

"You're here for the job aren't you?" She asked in this warm yet authoritative voice. What? Oh right, I'm no longer in my world. I'm in this world where I play as a girl who's mom is dying and doesn't have enough money to pay for the hospital bills so decides to take a job here.

"I asked you a question sweetie, so I expect an answer." The woman said snapping me out of my thoughts, I nodded. She stared at me before looking at her nails for seemed to be a decade before telling me to come inside while murmuring about how my communication skills needed work.

The living room was large, with a glass chandelier in the middle of the ceiling, plush vanilla sofas, art pieces that seem to date all the way back to the Renaissance Era. There where two stairs that both led to the other floors, but I could see an elevator right at the corner.

A man probably in his mid forties in thick glasses sat on one of the sofas, reading a red book, his black hair that sported some streaks of grey neatly combed while his blue eyes showed how engrossed he was in the book. He was claded in a black turtleneck shirt that stretched across his chest and in white trousers, a golden chain locket was on his neck too.

"Darling~ she's here~" The woman from earlier chirped as she took her seat by him, her hands wrapping around one of his muscular arms making me want to vomit.

Like I said, I'm not a fan of PDA. It disgusts me. The man finally looked up and I honestly wished he didn't because I was practically staring at a man who had oceans for eyes: unreadable, unpredictable.

"Sit." He ordered gesturing at the armchair opposite to the sofa they were sitting on but right near the fireplace.

"What's your name?" He asked as soon as I sat.

"Jade."

"How old are you?"

"Seventeen."

He paused for a moment, his eyes narrowed a bit before he sighed and continued with the next question.

"Why do you want the job?"

"My mom's sick and I need the money to pay her hospital bills."

"Doesn't insurance cover that?" The woman asked. If insurance covered it does she obviously think I'll be here?

"Unfortunately, no it doesn't." I replied, trying so hard not to sound rude. The man simply nodded.

"Do you know what this job entails?" The man asked.

"Experience in human interactions." Something I suck at but hey, they don't need to know that.

"Punctuality, Honesty, Tolerance and Truthfulness." The man said. "You're going to be the personal maid of five brothers with five different personalities. Some are loud, others reserved. Can you handle that?" He added.

Absolutely not.

"Yes, I can." I replied, my reply doesn't honestly matter. No matter what route I take, I would still get the job.

The man nodded before, texting someone on his phone.

"Your responsibilities are coming down." Was all he said when four guys came down from oldest to youngest. I remembered all of them from which instrument they play.

The first was the guitar, Christopher. Jet black hair, dark red eyes and pale skin dressed in a black sweater with navy blue baggy jeans with chains attached to the side pockets. I never really interacted with him while I played the game, maybe it was because he had this face that always scared the hell out of me. He had the tattoo of an arrow on his neck, he simply gave me a nod before standing by a pillar.

Next was the violin, Kristen. He also had black hair the difference being his was a bit longer and was tied up in a messy bun and he also had icy blue eyes, he was dressed in a pale blue sweatshirt with it's sleeves rolled up showing bandaged up hands and arms, his black trousers having paint smudges on it. The only thing I ever kept in my head about him was that he's a twin.

The next person to come while calling after Kristen was his twin, the drums. Chris, Chris also has black hair but I don't remember the last time he ensured that his hair wasn't messy, he had dark red eyes and was in a tank top and cargo pants that hung loosely on his hips, drumsticks still in his fingers as he used one to drum Kristen's head. Kristen elbowed him in response, the man that I'm now really sure is their father gave them a death glare and that made them stop because they sat on entirely different parts of the couch and Kristen began using his phone.

"Kristen, sweetheart it's rude to use a phone in front of us if we haven't asked you to." His mother said, I could see the side glare he gave her but he put the phone down.

Then the fourth born came, the only one who doesn't play an instrument: The DJ, Luke. He has brown hair with these eyes, I don't whether to say orange or yellow but they're not red at all. He was in an oversized hoodie with headphones around his neck and wore light orange shorts. He was the only person who sat by their parents.

The fifth born never came: the piano, Jayden. Their dad asked Luke where he was but Luke simply shrugged and said something about Jayden leaving the house earlier.

"Gentlemen, this is Jade, she'll be you're personal maid. Any questions?" Their father asked, Kristen raised his hand.

"Why do we need a maid?" He asked.

"Because, we won't be in the house often and none of you here can cook rice. Luke, she'll share a room with you and Jayden." Their father said, Luke opened his mouth to complain but their father simply glared right at him and he shut up.

"Go show her to your room, the rest of you are dismissed." Was all their dad said, when Luke walked up to me.

"So hi, I'm Luke. And we're going to be roommates I guess?" He said, sounding unsure. I simply nodded, he sighed awkwardly before taking my hand but I took my hand away.

"Got it, no physical contact." He said before beckoning me to follow him upstairs where he led me to our room, it was painted in two colors, orange and lavender. He asked me to pick which side I wanted and I said lavender.

So basically he showed me all the parts of the room like the walk in closet, the hammock, the study and the bathroom.

I asked him if I could use the bathroom and he gave me thumbs up and I entered.

The bathroom had a shower and a Jacuzzi and the whole place was smelling like lemon and vanilla, I peeled off my clothes and stepped into the warm water in the Jacuzzi, feeling my body relaxing.

This felt good, I thought while my eyelids grew heavy. Maybe I would enjoy this afterall.

I didn't even register hearing the door open.
