Elio was going to return to his chair when the goddess reached for the ice creams.
"Thank you," she said.
'Did she just thank me?'
He could not believe his ears. He had only approached the goddess because he wanted to break the silence between them so that he could ask her to send him back to the real world.
He just wanted to go back to his Queen, back into a world where he was the King, respected and not choked every now and then.
The ice creams were just his attempt to bribe the goddess. He didn't expect her to thank him for them. He was instead worried that she might get even more angry at the idea of him thinking he could bribe her.
"Don't mention it," Elio replied, trying to hide how surprised he was. He was trying to make it look normal. To make it look as if it was a casual thing for arrogant goddesses to thank mere mortals.
