Chapter 86 - Interlines 8- From the darkness

I stared at the sphere in disbelief. I couldn't believe they'd end up reunited.

- The world really is a small place. I even took it upon myself to curse her so no one could recognize her at a glance or even mention her name!

I slam the sphere in front of me in frustration as I watch a cocoon of vines carefully emerge from the water capital. Some guards attack the cocoon, but their arrows simply bounce off it.

- If I took away her power now, I might just have her fall to her death...

I gently stroke the flower in my hands as I consider my possibilities before letting go and setting it aside on uno of the small pedestals adorning the room.

- But... That would be sooooo boring!

Before I know it, a deep smile appears in the crystal ball. I can't help but smile as I stare at my own face.

- I mean, what were the odds? What were the damn odds of this encounter happening? And not only that, the Fire Hero is very fond of that little girl. Wouldn't it be absurdly fun to see what he'll do? Maybe this development will even speed up my plan a bit.

Before I know it, I'm screaming into the empty room I'm standing in. My fingers, deeply embedded in the sphere, are gripping it so tightly that the tips are white from the pressure. Realizing what I'm doing, I take a deep breath before carefully releasing the ball.

- I have to be careful not to damage it. Last time, I couldn't see the outside world for 100 years because of that.

I back away from the ball a little before dropping into the air. Before I can land, a luxurious chair appears in the perfect place and time to keep me from falling to the ground.

- But... you really are a very bad girl, Dorothy. To think you'd have the Flower Witch and the Fire Hero worried about you. I can't help but wonder how this fun triangle will end.

A deep smile appears on my face as I watch the bud fly over the scorched earth toward the old village of Nath.

- I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to hasten the plan with Liberio as well.

I get up from the chair and walk a few steps toward a small altar similar to the one where I had left the flower. From it, I carefully take a small doll of a pig holding a sword. The doll isn't very detailed. On the contrary, it's quite deteriorated. Some of its seams have begun to unravel.

- I hope you give me a worthy show, little piggy.
