Chapter 371 - Chapter 371: Identity Tokens

In the Lingxian Sect, we won't adopt a system where resources are heavily skewed toward those with higher talent. If you want cultivation resources, you'll have to earn them through your own efforts.

For those who don't want to contribute and only focus on cultivation, they'll only receive the basic allotment given to all disciples. After all, the sect isn't a charity. Having everyone work hard to support one person who contributes nothing is not something Lin Xiao could accept.

With that, the system of the Lingxian Sect was now established—at least for this stage. Of course, this didn't mean the system was set in stone. Rules and regulations are meant to be adjusted and refined over time. As long as the system works for the present and the near future, that's enough for now. What happens later will be dealt with later. While it's important to have a forward-thinking approach, there's no need to rush all the way to the endpoint.

With these thoughts in mind, Lin Xiao opened the Identity Token Generator again. Sure enough, all the roles had been updated based on the changes he had made earlier.

He casually selected the first role—Finance Hall Leader—and placed one spirit stone into the generator. After closing the lid, a soft green glow emerged, and after two breaths, the light faded, signaling the process was complete.

When he opened the box, there lay a simple and elegant white jade token. Lin Xiao picked it up and examined it closely. The token had delicate cloud patterns carved around its edges, with the words Finance Hall Leader inscribed on the front and Lingxian Sect on the back.

Rather than immediately generating more tokens, Lin Xiao decided to first test this one. He placed the token into his private storage and used the identification function.

Lingxian Sect Finance Hall Leader Token: Grants the holder full authority over all Finance Hall operations. This token can be used with Finance Hall facilities and the Sect's protective formation. It also tracks the holder's personal contributions to the sect, which can be redeemed at the General Affairs Hall. The holder will find passage through the Heart-Testing Path unimpeded, as long as they remain true to their current nature.

Note: Upgrading the Identity Token Generator will unlock additional token functionalities.

As this information appeared, the system chimed in Lin Xiao's mind:

Ding—Host has successfully generated the sect's first identity token. The sect's contribution tracking system is now active. Contribution counters have been placed at each relevant facility. Please proceed to inspect.

The contribution tracking system will automatically record the contributions of each disciple. Elder-level or higher-ranked token holders can also grant additional contribution points to disciples.

This meant that the system would automatically monitor and log contributions from all sect members. When they had accumulated enough, disciples could use their tokens at designated counters to redeem their points. Elders or higher-ranked members, like hall leaders, could also reward disciples with extra contribution points using their own tokens.

Lin Xiao figured that the system must have some connection between the various buildings and the sect's grand formation, allowing it to detect and track disciples' contributions.

With these identity tokens, sect members could easily use their contribution points within the sect's facilities, such as the Library Pavilion or the General Affairs Hall.

He hadn't expected such a small token to hold so much power—and it seemed like more features could be unlocked in the future. Pleased with the result, Lin Xiao set aside the testing phase and got to work.

He changed the token generator's settings to Finance Hall Disciples and inserted ten spirit stones. As soon as the stones vanished into the generator, the box remained empty. It seemed he could generate as many tokens as he wanted in one go. After closing the lid, another green flash occurred, and when it dimmed, Lin Xiao opened the box to find ten new Finance Disciple Tokens inside.

With that, he proceeded to generate tokens for all positions: one for each hall leader or elder, and twenty for each hall's disciples. Finally, he generated five hundred Ordinary Disciple Tokens, which had no specific role attached to them. These would be handed out to new sect members. Each token bore only the words Lingxian Sect Disciple and nothing else.

As for tokens with specific duties, they would only be issued upon appointment to a role and would have to be returned upon stepping down.

Lastly, Lin Xiao didn't forget to make a Sect Leader Token for himself. His token, unlike the others, had a gold border. The words Lingxian Sect Sect Leader were larger and more majestic, with an air of grandeur.

Admiring his own token with satisfaction, Lin Xiao played with it for a while before tucking it away. He then grabbed the freshly made pile of identity tokens and headed to the Beast Garden's entrance, where the control mechanism was hidden in a small recess in the stone wall.

The recess perfectly matched the size of the sect's identity tokens. Without hesitation, Lin Xiao inserted his Sect Leader Token and began adjusting the Beast Garden's settings.

First, he activated all the illusion formations and barrier formations. Then, he restricted access to the garden, allowing only the Beast Garden Leader, designated caretakers, and himself to enter. For non-sentient creatures, however, he left access unrestricted. He thought the beasts might enjoy some company from time to time, so small animals could still come and go freely.

Satisfied with the settings, Lin Xiao finally entered the Beast Garden and began emptying his living storage space.

Suddenly, a wave of flying and running spirit beasts poured out, their excitement palpable as they bolted toward areas filled with familiar scents. For a moment, they believed they had been freed from captivity and had returned to their natural habitats.

None of them even spared Lin Xiao, the one who had captured them, a second glance as they rushed to settle in their designated zones.

Little did they know they had simply moved from one cage to another. But regardless, the Beast Garden was much better than the sterile living storage space. Here, they had the environment they loved and their favorite food growing around them.

Moreover, the garden's formations were incredibly realistic, ensuring the beasts wouldn't easily realize they were still confined.
