Chapter 66 - Chapter 66 The Secret Under the Cliff

After demonstrating his strength, Mo Yu successfully infiltrated the makeshift mercenary group.

In the silent forest, a large group of people walked quietly, their vigilant eyes constantly scanning the dark areas of the surrounding trees. Their hands tightly gripped the weapons at their waists, ready to deal with any emergencies at any moment.

As veteran mercenaries who had spent many years in the Warcraft Mountains, they maintained a basic level of understanding, even though this was their first time working together. They could recognize signals of danger and safety from each other's eyes.

Although Mo Yu was a mercenary for the first time, he was just as vigilant and cooperative as the others.

His performance surprised the surrounding mercenaries. They expected a gifted genius like him to be out of touch with reality, but they were impressed to find him as experienced as a veteran.

At this time, Mo Yu turned around and looked at the Wanyaozhai herb-picking team, who were heavily guarded behind him. His gaze finally settled on Xiao Yixian.

Next to Xiao Yixian was a very handsome young man. However, it seemed that the Little Medical Fairy was not particularly impressed by the young man's enthusiasm.

Mo Yu's eyes narrowed as he observed the young man, eventually focusing on a badge on his chest. The badge featured a one-eyed wolf head.

The compliments from those around him revealed the young man's identity as Mu Li, the young leader of the Wolf Head Mercenary Group.

Mo Yu's eyes swept over the thirty or so mercenaries wearing the same badge. He knew that they were part of the Wolf Head Mercenary Group, one of the three major mercenary groups in Qingshan Town.

Compared to the temporary team of scattered mercenaries like Mo Yu, the Wolf Head Mercenary Group was obviously better trained and more trusted by Wanyaozhai.

Outside the Warcraft Mountains, everything was relatively calm. However, not long after the team entered, they encountered multiple small-scale attacks from magical beasts.

The team had only traveled a few kilometers when they were attacked by three waves of monsters. Fortunately, with their large numbers and strength, the mercenaries managed to repel all three waves, though more than a dozen sustained minor injuries.

During these attacks, Mo Yu showcased his extraordinary skills. Ordinary first-level monsters were no match for him.

Thus, Mo Yu gradually earned the recognition of the temporary team, although he paid little attention to it.

"Everyone, we are close to the herb-picking area. Please take a break. We've been walking for a long time, and everyone must be tired." The soft and crisp voice of the Little Medical Fairy broke the silence.

At her words, the whole team stopped simultaneously.

After a brief discussion, some mercenaries dispersed to stand guard, while others sat down to recover their strength.

For Mo Yu, the distance had not consumed any fighting spirit, so he was in excellent condition.

However, when he saw Xiao Yixian disappear, Mo Yu raised his eyebrows, then told the mercenary beside him to go out to relieve himself. He then slowly walked towards a small wooded area nearby.

Entering the woods, where the light was dim, Mo Yu noticed tiny traces of someone having passed by. A smile curled at the corner of his mouth.

As he ventured deeper into the dense forest, he came upon a somewhat steep cliff. Below the cliff, a lush green forest was visible, creating a picturesque scene.

Mo Yu was momentarily stunned by the cliff, then a thought struck him as he touched his chin.

His eyes scanned the edge of the cliff and suddenly paused. He noticed a pale white flower with red fruits blooming at the cliff's edge.

Mo Yu's eyebrows lifted in interest as he approached.

Suddenly, a jade-like hand reached out and picked the flower.

Mo Yu showed no surprise at the appearance of the hand and took another step forward.

As he approached, a soft and beautiful face with an ethereal aura appeared from beneath the cliff, looking at the calm young man with a hint of panic.

"Can I help you?" Mo Yu asked with a light smile, looking at the Little Medical Fairy floating under the cliff.

"Um, can... can you give me a hand?" Xiao Yixian replied, looking up at the young man with a sense of being seen through for some reason.

Mo Yu nodded, grasped the jade-like hand she offered, and exerted a slight force. Xiao Yixian leaped from the bottom of the cliff, her delicate body drawing a graceful arc in the air, and landed lightly at the top.

"Thank you," Xiao Yixian said softly as her feet touched the ground. She quickly broke free from Mo Yu's grasp and glanced inconspicuously at the edge of the cliff.

Her slender fingers brushed the black hair from her forehead, and her eyes moved across Mo Yu's face. As she took in his handsome features, she seemed to remember something and asked, "You... you're the mercenary guard hired by Wanyaozhai, right?"

Mo Yu smiled slightly at the fleeting glance Xiao Yixian gave towards the cliff.

It seemed that the widely circulated saying in the Dou Qi Continent was true: when you fall off a cliff, don't panic, because the road to becoming strong might just be right in front of you.

"Yeah," Mo Yu replied casually, then looked at the woman in front of him.

Though Xiao Yixian wasn't extremely beautiful at this moment, her gentle temperament was quite attractive.

Seeing that Mo Yu agreed so casually and had no intention of leaving, Xiao Yixian frowned slightly. Her dark eyes shifted, and she pointed at the white plant on the edge of the cliff, smiling as she said, "You seem very interested in this herb. Do you know what it is?"

Mo Yu responded calmly, "It's a White Orchid Fruit, a mid-level medicinal material worth about four thousand gold coins."

Xiao Yixian's beautiful eyes widened in surprise as she looked at the young man who quickly identified the herb and its value. She asked astonishedly, "Have you also learned how to identify medicinal herbs?"

"I know a bit," Mo Yu shrugged and replied vaguely.

Although he was primarily a weapon refiner, he had some knowledge of medicinal herb identification, though not as much as his expertise in weapon crafting.

Seeing this, Xiao Yixian didn't press further. She took out the White Orchid Fruit from her arms and said, "You helped me once, so I'll give you this White Orchid Fruit as a thank you."

Mo Yu shook his head and said calmly, "A gentleman doesn't take what others value. This White Orchid Fruit is more suitable for you."

Xiao Yixian was taken aback by Mo Yu's words. Her beautiful eyes fixed on him, and she developed a better impression of him. She said softly, "Thank you."

After a while, seeing that Mo Yu had no intention of leaving, Xiao Yixian glanced at the cliff with a troubled expression and said crisply, "Alright, the team is probably done resting. Let's go back."

Unexpectedly, the boy in front of her did not move.

As Xiao Yixian seemed to want to send him away, Mo Yu revealed a faint smile. His handsome face looked slightly strange under the faint moonlight.

Mo Yu looked at the Little Medical Fairy and then at the cliff below, and said something that shocked her.

"If I'm not mistaken, there should be a secret under this cliff."
