Layla pressed a hand to her chest, trying to ease the nausea that had bothered her since morning. Despite the discomfort, she maintained her composure, sitting through the meeting until it finally concluded. As soon as it ended, she made her way toward Lucius's office, hoping to see him.
On her way, several employees greeted her, and she returned their greetings with a polite smile.
Upon reaching the assistant's desk outside Lucius's office, she inquired, "Is Lucius inside?"
"Yes, ma'am," the assistant replied with a courteous smile. "But he has a few visitors at the moment."
Layla nodded. "Alright. I'll wait."
Another wave of nausea hit her, and she placed a hand over her stomach, puzzled. 'I haven't even eaten anything unusual.' She pushed the thought aside as the office doors opened. The managers filed out, pausing momentarily upon seeing her.
"Ms. Layla," they greeted respectfully.
She returned the greeting with a nod before stepping into the office.
