The sky over Miyagi was clear and blue, the kind of bright, crisp weather that made it feel like the world was celebrating with them. At a scenic garden venue nestled at the base of a quiet mountain, surrounded by spring blooms and soft birdsong, guests began to gather for the highly anticipated event of the year.
Akira and Kiyoko Shimizu were getting married.
The news of their wedding had spread quickly through the volleyball community—not just because of Akira's legendary status as Karasuno's ace during the Karasuno Dynasty years, or because Kiyoko had long been known as the steadfast and beloved manager—but because everyone who knew them saw this moment as inevitable. They were perfect for each other.
White blossoms fluttered in the gentle wind as guests began to arrive.
Daichi, Sugawara, Asahi, Tanaka, Nishinoya, Yachi, and Tsukishima arrived together—laughing, joking, and marveling at how grown-up everything felt. Yamaguchi trailed after them, pulling along a well-dressed Lev Haiba who had flown in from Russia just for the occasion.
From Nekoma, Kuroo stood tall and confident in a crisp suit, Kenma beside him with a phone in hand, live-streaming for fans who couldn't attend. Yaku, Kai, Inuoka, and Fukunaga joined the group shortly after.
Akaashi and Bokuto made a flashy entrance, with Bokuto nearly tripping on the path because he was too busy excitedly greeting everyone.
"Weddings are awesome!!" he declared, giving Akira a massive hug backstage. "You're gonna be so happy, man!!"
Akaashi just sighed fondly. "He's been yelling that the entire way here."
From Itachiyama, Sakusa arrived in a pristine black suit, face neutral as ever, but his eyes softened slightly when he greeted Kiyoko with a respectful nod. Komori gave Akira a fist bump and a cheeky grin. Korai Hoshiumi dashed in late, blaming traffic but flashing a thousand-watt smile that made everyone forgive him instantly.
Ushijima came, calm and collected, bringing with him Tendō—who had surprised everyone by flying in from Argentina with a dramatic flair, arms spread wide. "I wouldn't miss this for the world!" he sang.
Miya Atsumu swaggered in like he owned the place, only to get immediately smacked by his twin Osamu for being too loud. "Be decent for once, would ya?"
Kiryuu and several Jackal and Adlers players also showed up, offering their congratulations and hearty smiles.
Then the music began.
Everyone quieted, turning toward the aisle as Kiyoko appeared. She wore a simple, elegant white gown that fluttered softly in the breeze, her hair adorned with delicate pearls. The moment Akira saw her, all the noise of the world fell away.
She walked forward with grace, her eyes never leaving his.
As they reached each other, the officiant began the ceremony.
It was simple, heartfelt, and full of emotion. Vows were exchanged—Akira, voice trembling, promised to walk with her through every joy and sorrow; Kiyoko, calm and radiant, vowed to always believe in him, just as she always had.
When they kissed, the cheers were deafening.
"Karasuno's greatest victory!!" Tanaka yelled, pumping his fist.
"I'm not crying," muttered Nishinoya, "you are."
The reception was pure joy. Laughter, drinks, speeches, and spontaneous volleyball games (yes, even in formalwear). Kageyama grumbled when forced to dance, Hinata dragged everyone into a group selfie, and Tendō made a dramatic toast that somehow made everyone both laugh and cry.
That night, under a sky full of stars, Akira stood with Kiyoko at the edge of the party, holding her hand.
"Can you believe it?" he whispered.
She smiled up at him.
"Yes," she said. "I always."
