"SCP-008?" Kiwo was the first to say in surprise after seeing the Foundation mark on the wall of the room. Brit and the others were also revitalized.
"It's 008!"
"Hahaha, we finally found it!"
"Finally found it!"
The group was very excited. You know, they didn't find SCP-008 until the end of the game. SCP-008 is the key link to pass through the Heavy Containment Area, as the checkpoint leading to the office area is blocked because of SCP-008. Therefore, to pass the area, they must find SCP-008. Now, although they haven't found the room for "The Old Man" yet, and haven't obtained the Level 5 keycard, it's good to be able to find SCP-008 in advance. Because they will come here sooner or later; the sooner they come, the easier it will be.
"Go! Go in and have a look!" Brit took the lead and stepped into the room, while the others also followed closely.
After entering, the group looked around and examined the layout of the entire room. The room was very simple: there was a lamp on the ceiling, and the light was fairly bright. There was a metal door on each side of the room. On the wall between the two doors, there was a yellow logo. Aside from that, there was nothing else in the room.
"I don't know which door leads to the containment room, and we haven't seen the file yet. We don't know its specifics..." Brit's face became serious.
The post on the forum did not provide detailed information, so they did not know the specifics about SCP-008. They didn't even know the SCP details, let alone what might be wrong here. If you don't know, it probably means there is great danger.
"Then what should we do? There are no files here either!" Kiwo said with a bitter expression, while another person also looked uneasy.
Vale and RT didn't seem concerned. Vale even waved his hand and said, "Let me try, while you wait outside the door."
After thinking carefully, Brit could only nod solemnly and said, "Okay! That's the only way!"
The unknown represents danger; therefore, if you don't know the specific situation here, the safest option is to let the enhanced Vale or RT investigate.
However, before Vale started, Brit looked at the sign on the wall and said again: "Perhaps I can guess what SCP-008 is..."
Brit pointed to the container sign and continued: "Look at the picture on the sign..."
The others looked over. In the yellow mark, besides the SCP number and item level, there was also a triangle symbol. Below the symbol, it was written: [Biological Hazard].
"I think, judging from the hazard type, SCP-008 might be some kind of germ..." Brit frowned slightly, his tone uncertain.
The faces of the others also showed thoughtful expressions. The triangular symbol does resemble a biohazard. Thinking carefully, it could indeed be a germ.
"From this picture, it might be a virus..."
"Then you'd better wear a gas mask!"
"If it's a virus, what's the deal? Was the virus leaked?"
People couldn't help but discuss. In the end, Vale clapped his hands and said, "Let's check it out!"
The others nodded in agreement. After some discussion, they decided that Vale would open the door while the others waited outside. Once the decision was made, they began to act.
After the others left, Vale closed the metal door behind him, becoming the only one in the room. He looked at the card reader on the metal door, thought for a moment, and chose the door on the left. However, before opening it, Vale put on his gas mask. Although his body had been enhanced and his resistance to abnormal effects greatly increased, an extra layer of protection couldn't hurt.
After donning the gas mask, Vale took the keycard Brit had given him, approached the left metal door, and swiped it on the card reader. After a beep, the door opened. When it did, Vale instinctively assumed a defensive posture, but there was no monster behind the door. Nor was there any green poison or other threats.
Behind the door was a long room that looked like an observation room. Inside were some machines with unknown functions, as well as desks, computers, filing cabinets, and other items in the back.
Seeing this, Vale heaved a sigh of relief. He then opened the door to let Brit, who was waiting outside, in.
"Look at the room on the left first. It seems to be an observation room..." Vale pointed to the open door on the left.
"Really!"
"There seems to be an observation window inside..."
"Go in and have a look!"
The group then entered the observation room. They didn't need to look at the instruments outside because they couldn't understand them anyway. The five of them moved straight to the back of the room. To the right, there were two long tables; on one of the tables was a computer, and the walls behind the tables were made of thick glass.
When they saw the scene behind the glass, they couldn't help but widen their eyes. At the same time, they whispered almost simultaneously: "Sure enough!"
The scene behind the glass was just a sealed room. In the center was a thick pipe-like device connected to the ground. The pipe's opening was covered, but the lid was currently open.
From inside the pipe, a slightly green gas was gushing out. The air in the room appeared green due to the large amount of this gas, which had accumulated throughout the space, giving them a sense of danger. Therefore, even without reading the file, they understood immediately what was in front of them.
"This should be the containment room. SCP-008 is a poisonous gas, so it must be some kind of virus..." Brit shook his head in surprise, and Vale shared the same reaction. No one expected that their earlier speculation would turn out to be correct. After seeing the scene in the containment room, the group realized their next task was to enter the room and close the open lid so that the gas wouldn't leak further.
"Hey, there's a file over there!" Kiwo suddenly pointed to the top of a filing cabinet at the back. The cabinet wasn't tall, and there was just one file on it. Kiwo ran over to retrieve it. The group then gathered around to look at the file.
