Chapter 150 - Chapter : 149 : Here We Go Again

The love for games makes the twin sisters dream of joining a company that truly develops games, and this production team that seemingly appeared out of nowhere is exactly such a company. Its first game, "Foundation Breach," swept the world thanks to its excellent quality, and the giants of the gaming industry acknowledge this masterpiece.

And naturally, games of this caliber are the sisters' absolute favorite. They were so hooked they nearly forgot to eat or sleep! They experienced many failures, but finally, not long ago, they succeeded in clearing the game and became the first team in the world to do so.

However, this also pushed them into the spotlight. Countless players and companies set their sights on them, all eager to get their hands on detailed guides to become the next to clear the game and secure that coveted top-20 beta tester. But the two sisters stayed true to themselves. Even when offered high prices, they refused to sell their methods and that decision speaks volumes about their character.

On the Twitch Platform.

Brit, Kiwo, Vale, Plumbella, and RT, the five streamers, were ready once more. After some discussion, they'd figured out the general behavior of SCP-096. With their confidence renewed, they jumped back into the game despite it being late at night.

Even after playing for hours, none of them felt tired or bored. To them, "Foundation Breach" felt like a vast, mysterious world hidden behind a veil, and they had only scratched the surface. There was still a massive unexplored space, filled with unique content waiting to be discovered.

As the game officially began, everything felt familiar. They had been through this many times before, so the team was quite experienced. The opening sequence went smoothly, and after that, the mission to traverse the Light Containment Area officially began.

Since the map resets every time, even with experience, they had to proceed step by step with caution. Still, their familiarity with the terrain and some areas helped them dodge many dangers. Among the threats are Ear-Bear, Metal Bear, and 'The Old Man'. Without that knowledge, most players would've died here.

Eventually, Brit and the team completed the Light Containment Area. They also collected all the items they could find. With the Light Containment Area cleared, they headed straight for the Heavy Containment Area.

Standing at the entrance of the section, emotions ran high. They were excited, but also nervous. They'd never explored this area before, and no one knew what kind of unimaginable Foundation items awaited. Even with a bit of fear, their confidence stayed strong.

"Shouldn't be a problem this time, with me and Vale here, hahaha..." RT grinned as he spoke.

He and Vale both had glowing red eyes, a result of enhancing themselves using 'The Clockworks' in the Light Containment Area. Originally, only Vale wanted the upgrade, but when RT saw it, he couldn't resist trying it out for himself. And so, both of them became superhuman.

Thanks to reminders from the chat, Brit and the team knew the risk: The process doesn't guarantee a good outcome. Sometimes, a player mutates into a monster and gets forcefully removed from the game, leaving only their body behind for the team to deal with. Other times, they turn into powerful but irrational humanoids, who might even attack their teammates. In some cases, players are simply processed to death without warning. The team might not even see what happened, but clearly, something horrific must occur post-process, wiping them out in an instant.

In short, the enhancement is a double-edged sword. It doesn't always work in your favor as what comes out of that chamber is completely random, and that unpredictability is part of the allure. No one knows what the outcome will be, feeding the endless curiosity of players.

Fortunately for Vale and RT, they got lucky. They gained strength without losing their sanity, especially Vale, two successful processes, zero side effects. That's rare. Still, even with good fortune, Vale wasn't without trouble...

"The side effects are just… ugh, not pleasant." Vale clutched his chest and shook his head.

Indeed, though both he and RT gained power, they also received serious side effects. From the moment they stepped out of the machine, they knew they wouldn't last to the end, but they had mentally prepared themselves in advance. As long as they could help the team progress, whether they made it to the finish didn't matter.

"Let's work hard and beat the game! Let's go!" Brit patted Vale and RT on the shoulders, encouraging them. Then added: "Same plan, head to the Foundation area with the Plague Doctor first for the level-4 keycard, then the area with 'The Old Man' for level-5."

Everyone nodded in agreement. They each checked their equipment, and then the team officially set out once again. With a newly refreshed map, this would be a completely new adventure! Who knew what unknown items they might find this time?

Luckily, the next part went smoother than expected, perhaps even better than last time! Before long, they located the Plague Doctor's containment zone. After a brief rest, the five entered the elevator together, ready to officially dive into the next area.

And just before the elevator doors closed, the red-eyed Vale grinned and said: "Here we come again."
