Chapter 330 - Chapter 330: Winning Half the Game: Sage Art: Nirvana

Different Susanoo forms manifest differently according to the user. For instance, his (Madara's) Susanoo was blue, tapering at the top with protrusions on both sides of its chin.

His younger brother Izuna's Susanoo, on the other hand, was green, rounded at the bottom and pointed at the top, looking like a single drop of water at first glance.

Beyond that, there would be exclusive weapon designs. Taking him as an example, his was a curved snake sword, while his brother Izuna's was a circular blade.

So, Tōshirō's Susanoo being black in itself wasn't an issue.

But the problem was, Tōshirō had just awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan, and he could already use Susanoo?

Susanoo was the third dōjutsu residing within the Mangekyo Sharingan, and the time it took to unlock this ability varied depending on the user's talent.

It was well-known that he and his brother Izuna were among the most talented individuals in Uchiha history. Yet, even so, he only gradually figured out how to use Susanoo after using the Mangekyo Sharingan once.

Tōshirō being able to use Susanoo right after awakening his eyes surpassed Uchiha Madara's expectations.

Tōshirō's face was grim. Continuously using Spirit Fire and Susanoo caused intense pain throughout his entire body, including his eyes.

That he could activate Susanoo immediately after awakening his eyes was partly due to talent, but more importantly, it was because the Five-Tails within him and the Sharingan were fundamentally heading towards the same destination.

The combination of the two allowed Tōshirō to activate Susanoo as soon as he awakened his eyes.

Spirit Fire's arm shot out blue flames, burning towards the Four-Tails.

The Four-Tails let out a painful cry, grabbing Tōshirō's arm, trying to break free.

Spirit Fire stepped forward, its other hand also clutching the Four-Tails' throat. It planted its feet firmly, stabilizing its stance. No matter how the Four-Tails struggled, Spirit Fire refused to let go, and its entire body blazed with intense blue flames, vowing to kill the Four-Tails.

If it devoured this guy, Spirit Fire's power would surely reach another level.

Seeing the grim situation, everyone rushed forward to help, unleashing various ninjutsu towards Tōshirō.

Tōshirō gritted his teeth, frantically drawing chakra from the Five-Tails while desperately pushing his eyes to evolve Susanoo further.

While Spirit Fire was powerful, it still had some drawbacks for now.

When manipulating Spirit Fire, Tōshirō couldn't move around too much, as this would destabilize Spirit Fire and prevent it from unleashing its full power.

In the future, when Tōshirō mastered this dōjutsu, this drawback might disappear, but for now, Tōshirō couldn't overcome this weakness.

Limited by this weakness, Tōshirō could only continue to squeeze out more power from his eyes.

The black skeleton on his body underwent further changes. Black fire wolves surged upwards, forming a spinal column connected to the black skull-like head. This head had a crest-like protrusion, and upon closer inspection, a circular hole in the center. The head's shape strikingly resembled a certain individual who loved to dismember bodies.

Then, under the tempering of the black fire waves, the skeleton was covered with solid-looking flesh and sinews.

In this state of Susanoo, the ninjutsu attacks unleashed by the ninjas were like raindrops hitting its body, having no effect whatsoever.

"To reach this stage so quickly..."

Uchiha Madara's expression grew even more surprised.

Just being able to use Susanoo right after awakening his eyes was astonishing enough; he never expected Tōshirō to evolve Susanoo to this level so quickly.

Seeing this scene, the ninjas' feet instinctively shuffled back a little.

One Spirit Fire was already enough to give them a headache; now with Susanoo added, there was no way they could possibly win.

Just as everyone was about to feel that this battle was unwinnable, Tōshirō then did something that baffled everyone.

He not only dispelled Susanoo but also canceled Spirit Fire, which was in the process of strangling the Four-Tails, giving the Four-Tails a moment to breathe.

However, the real surprise was yet to come. He leaped high into the air, with Spirit Fire following closely behind, opening its mouth, and then actually swallowing Tōshirō whole.

Everyone's faces tightened. They felt that Tōshirō wouldn't possibly commit suicide. It was clear that something even worse was about to happen.

The next second, their premonition came true. Black ribs began to emerge from Spirit Fire's chest, spreading outwards.

"This is..."

Upon seeing this technique from Tōshirō, Uchiha Madara couldn't help but recall the time he used Susanoo on the Nine-Tails.

The difference, however, was that Tōshirō was doing it in reverse; he was using Spirit Fire as an outer shell, going against the usual method.

Spirit Fire roared, spewing countless ice spikes from the ground around itself. Those who reacted slowly or had bad luck were directly impaled by the ice spikes.

With the annoying nuisances gone, Spirit Fire turned back. Spirit Fire, now empowered by Susanoo's strength, overwhelmed the Four-Tails, beating it back to its original form, revealing its true appearance.

Then, without hesitation, it grabbed the Four-Tails Jinchuriki and stuffed him into its mouth, intending to devour him.

This body not only contained the Four-Tails Jinchuriki's soul but also the Four-Tails' soul. If it could devour and digest them, Spirit Fire's power would undergo a qualitative leap.

Just as Tōshirō was about to do so, something unexpected happened.

The dōjutsu's power reached its limit, and the side effects began to erupt. First, his vision became incredibly blurry, then his eyes ached immensely. Tōshirō clutched his eyes, letting out a cry of agony.

Without Tōshirō's dōjutsu power to maintain them, Spirit Fire and Susanoo successively dispersed.

Tōshirō fell to the ground.

Everyone paused, then burst into euphoria. This guy had finally reached his limit...

After this, another battle ensued. Heavily surrounded, Tōshirō was covered in blood, his vision blurred beyond recognition, just one step away from blindness.

Victory was at hand. This time, everyone could confidently and boldly smile: "Uchiha Tōshirō, give up. You are riddled with wounds, completely out of chakra, and at the end of your rope. Submitting to death is your ultimate destiny."

Tōshirō, whose mind had already become abnormal, laughed maniacally.

Everyone frowned, looking perplexed. What was so funny about this...? Or had this person gone mad?

Tōshirō pointed at the crowd, his eyes glowing with a frenzied light: "You, you, and all of you, remember this: in this world, no one can judge me! To hell with your damn God!"

Accompanied by a low growl, Tōshirō formed hand signs. Intense hatred transformed into chakra, a final burst of energy. His body erupted with its last ounce of chakra, entering Sage Mode Stage Two. However, this time, it wasn't half his body turning black, but his entire body. Then, his hair began to turn white from the top of his head, and ice crystals permeated from every pore of his body.

"Sage Art: Nirvana."

This ninjutsu was a prerequisite for entering true Sage Mode, with a high chance of failure.

To be born anew from death.

Tōshirō aimed to win half the game.

To still possess such terrifying chakra, everyone, upon seeing this, felt as if they were facing a formidable enemy, their bodies instinctively recoiling.

P.S.: I've realized that in fanfiction, it's better to write storylines that feature more original characters. It makes it more immersive. So, next, I'm going to skip ahead in the timeline...

I decided this when I was halfway through writing, which is why I've been deliberately suppressing the protagonist's combat power, for example, their age. Otherwise, if the protagonist were too old, it would result in an invincible character, making this plot unable to unfold, leading to various frustrating setbacks and a less enjoyable writing experience.

However, after this, I will no longer let the protagonist suffer setbacks.
