"S_so why did you call me?" Janey asked. Her fingers were starting to wander around her shit aimlessly and her toes were coiling and uncoiling the longer they spoke on the phone.
"You asked for my number then ran off. Didn't you expect I'd call you after that?" Alan asks and Janey shakes her head without saying anything.
Not even in her wildest dream could she have imagined that he would be the one to call her first. "Y_you have no idea how shocked I was when I found out you were the one calling."
She heard something like a soft chuckle, it wasn't loud but she knew she heard right. She wondered what about what she just said made him laugh but decided to keep that question to herself and ask a different question instead.
"Uhm, d_did you, did you eat the cookies?" She was curious. She wanted to know if he found them delicious or not. She was sure of her baking skills but still, she was very nervous. His taste in food could be different, so maybe he might not like her cookies and—
