'So it seems i have successfully bonded with my sister-in-law, isn't this wonderful?' Yue Ning thought to herself, the smile not diminishing from her lips.
She clicked her tongue before she walked back into the mansion. She wanted to get used to the mansion before He Yuchen returned home.
Yue Ning thought she was going to have a peaceful day, who knew that Yue Chen would call her, requesting for an outing.
"What does this foolish sister of mine want?" She asked herself as she stared at her phone feeling exasperated.
But regardless, she decided to go. It had only been a day since she got married to Huo Feng, but her sister decided it was right for her to meet.
'Host, I think you should stay back home,' the system advised.
"Why? I would like to see what my sister is up to," Yue Ning said while searching for the clothes she could wear.
Yue Ning clicked her tongue. It turns out that she didn't even have good clothes.
'I know what I am saying, host, what if this is a ploy from your sister? You could end up seriously hurt, instead, I believe you can use this opportunity to teach your sister a lesson,' the system suggested.
Yue Ning paused in her actions as she said, "I am listening, what do you have to say?"
'You have already agreed to meet up, she would send you the time and address, why don't you stand her up? Leave her to wait for three hours, then call to cancel. Think of it this way, you are taking revenge on behalf of the second male lead.' The system proposed.
Yue Ning was silent for a while before saying, "you are wicked, but don't worry, I like it."
"Let's do it, I also need to shop, these dresses are not befitting the wife of the richest man in China," Yue Ning accepted her proposition.
'Host, you seemed to have forgotten something,' the system stated.
"And what might that be?" Yue Ning asked, casually scrolling through her phone to look for a good mall.
'You are broke, and do not have any money to your name,' the system 'kindly' reminded her.
"But how could that be possible? I remember that although my father might be a scumbag, he still provided me with my monthly allowance, there is no way I could be broke," Yue Ning countered.
'True, but you should also remember that you always gave all your allowance to Yue Chen,' the system said.
Yue Ning slapped her forehead in exasperation. How could she have forgotten about it?
"What do I do now?" Yue Ning sighed. She didn't have any money, and she needed to get new clothes.
'I suggest you ask the second male lead,' the system suggested.
Yue Ning was about to puke blood.
"Why don't you just say you hate me? How could you even think of such a thing?" Yue Ning questioned.
'I was just giving you a suggestion, it is up to you to take it or leave it,' the system replied in a sassy manner.
Yue Ning rolled her eyes, scratching her hair while thinking of what she could do.
Meanwhile, Huo Yan had already reached her brother's company.
She easily walked into the company as the employees recognized her.
She bumped into Ah Si on the way.
"Young Miss, why are you here?" Ah Si questioned, his eyes falling on Bento boxes in her hand.
"I am here to deliver food to my brother, where is he?" Huo Yan replied.
"Boss is in his office, but forgive me for asking, who prepared the dish?" Ah Si inquired. This was the first time Huo Yan would be delivering food to her brother, so it was a rare sight, even for him who was used to seeing different things just by being around Huo Feng.
"My sister-in-law," Huo Yan replied, and there was a mischievous glint in her eyes as she replied.
Ah Si swallowed. He never expected that the boss's wife would be the one to cook the dish.
"Why didn't she deliver it herself?" He questioned, feeling curious.
"If you were in her position, would you deliver it yourself?" Huo Yan asked sarcastically.
Ah Si turned quiet. Of course, he couldn't do that. Who didn't know that Huo Feng wasn't a fan of this marriage?
Yue Ning was self-aware. This was the reason she sent Huo Yan, the best candidate to deliver the food.
They finally arrived at Huo Feng's office.
"You can go in, Miss," Ah Si opened the door for her, and she walked in.
"Brother," Huo Yan called out coquettishly.
Huo Feng raised his head, and he sighed when he saw his sister.
"What are you doing here? And what is that in your hands?" Huo Feng asked, not paying attention to her anymore.
"Can't I visit my brother? And besides, I realize that you don't eat that much, so I decided to bring you lunch," Huo Yan explained herself as she dropped the dish on the table.
"I am not hungry," he ruthlessly said, not minding how his words hurt her.
Well, he underestimated his sister's tolerance level.
"Brother, you might not have told anyone, but I am aware that you have gastric issues which will worsen if you don't eat, out of the goodwill of my heart, I brought you lunch, yet you are rejecting me," Huo Yan held her chest as she spoke dramatically.
Huo Feng finally raised his head to stare at her, and she blinked in response.
"Aren't you supposed to be in school?" He asked.
"We are on break," Huo Yan replied with a bright smile.
"Serve me," Huo Feng finally gave in.
He knew how his sister was, there was no way she would give up. She would always find a way to get what she wants.
Huo Yan clapped happily before serving the food on Huo Feng's leisure table.
Huo Feng watched her, and he frowned at seeing the various dishes. They were his favourites, and he was aware that the chefs at the Old Mansion didn't know what he liked.
"Who prepared this food?" He asked curiously.
Huo Yan paused in her actions, before turning to look at him.
"Do you really want to know who prepared this food?" Huo Yan asked with a wide smile.
All of a sudden, Huo Feng didn't want to know after seeing the smile on her face.
