"Here, let me test out the effect of the Master Ball my sister and I recently developed."
Leon held up a small purple orb, and Andrius immediately had a bad feeling about it.
It was only the size of a palm, yet it made him instinctively uneasy.
This was a specially crafted magical item designed for monsters—combining three effects: capture, taming, and containment.
The prototype was inspired by the Master Ball, a rare item from a game in Leon's previous life, capable of capturing any pocket monster.
When Leon came up with the idea of taming a powerful beast as his pet, he immediately thought of creating a similar tool.
And with the help of his beloved sister, Princess Anis, he successfully built the prototype.
That was the Master Ball now in his hand.
Leon didn't fully understand how to recreate the original from his past life, but thanks to his abilities, he managed to produce something quite similar.
The principle was simple: first, craft the Master Ball's core from a special mineral, then open a spatial rift within it and turn that into a habitable space—
a place where living creatures could survive.
As for taming… he could simply use Geass!
Although the effects were something of a patchwork, the resulting [Master Ball]—usable only by Leon—worked well enough for his purposes.
"I command you to submit to me, Andrius!" Leon ordered.
As he spoke, he opened the [Master Ball], revealing the spatial rift inside, and captured the towering five-meter-tall mythical wolf before him.
Once again, Leon thanked the convenience of his spatial powers. Even a massive creature like that could fit into a palm-sized orb.
The space inside the Master Ball was designed as an artificial wilderness environment, so the North Wind Wolf would have no trouble adapting.
"Did it work?"
Anis ran over excitedly to check the Master Ball in Leon's hand.
"Well…"
Leon was about to say it seemed successful—
But then a crack appeared on the orb's surface. He immediately threw it away without hesitation.
"Awoooooooooo!"
With a deafening howl, a massive and majestic wolf burst out of the Master Ball. The orb itself shattered into pieces on the ground.
It had failed—but not completely.
"At your command, my king."
A red glow flickered in the North Wind Wolf's eyes as it bowed its head respectfully to Leon.
"The containment failed, but the taming succeeded."
Leon raised his hand and stroked Andrius's fur, satisfied.
Come to think of it, if the taming had failed, he'd have had no choice but to kill the wolf and use its pelt for a coat and its parts for new magical tools.
It might sound cruel—but that was reality.
If the North Wind Wolf wasn't tamed, their relationship would revert to that of monster and adventurer.
And it was natural for adventurers to hunt monsters and use the resources from their remains.
"Ehh~ The ball broke…" Anis murmured.
"Don't worry—we're heading in the right direction," Leon reassured her.
"It's strange though. Didn't it work on the others?"
Anis picked up the fragments on the ground, clearly frustrated. Before this, she and Leon had tested it on other animals and monsters, and every attempt had succeeded.
"About that, I think it's because Andrius's level as a creature is much higher than the ones we tested before. Right now, our Master Ball should be capable of capturing monsters up to A+ rank," Leon said, shaking his head.
Just as a cage can hold a canary but not a phoenix soaring through the sky, there were limits to what it could contain.
Still, there was no reason to feel discouraged.
This wasn't failure—it was, in fact, a huge success. After all, there probably weren't even a hundred SSS-rank monsters in the entire world.
Such beings were on par with dragons—creatures that defied logic, existing outside all normal parameters.
For instance, although the North Wind Wolf had fallen to Leon within three strikes, it was strong enough to destroy a small nation by itself. It was only natural that even the Master Ball couldn't contain it.
"At this stage, our progress is already excellent." Leon lifted his hand and gently ruffled Anis's blonde hair.
Then he pulled several [Master Balls] from his storage, opened them all, and threw them onto the ground.
In an instant, a large number of animals and monsters appeared out of thin air.
Roars, screeches, and cries filled the air—more than a dozen different species, ranging from harmless animals to A+ rank monsters that normally required teams of elite adventurers to handle.
These were all the creatures Leon and Anis had captured during their experiments. By any measure, the results were already a resounding success.
"Hmph~ Quite the sight, isn't it?"
Anis smiled proudly, watching the spectacle—a scene that would have sent ordinary adventurers screaming in terror.
She walked fearlessly among the beasts.
All of them were tamed by Leon.
Though not as intelligent as Andrius, none of them could ever harm Anis, who shared Leon's aura.
Leon: During the process of taming and training, it seems my beast-taming talent maxed out without me even realizing it. I have to admit—this 'Dragon Power' is ridiculously convenient.
While his Geass didn't work well on low-intelligence creatures, Leon's Dragon Power, which could suppress all living beings, served as an ideal ability for monster taming.
After all, even a ferocious lion becomes a docile kitten before a dragon capable of destroying everything.
"Good boy~ My, my, Leon's little pet really is one of a kind. Who else in the world could raise an A+ ranked monster?"
Anis said proudly, her tone dripping with admiration.
"You know what my goal is, right?" Leon asked, sitting cross-legged on Andrius's back.
"Of course I do—to collect every monster in the world ranked A or higher, regardless of species, right?"
Anis felt a chill just saying it aloud.
If he really pulled it off, Leon would undoubtedly become the greatest tamer in history—or rather, the Supreme Beast Master!
If anyone else had said something like that, Anis would've laughed it off as a joke.
But coming from her brother… it was terrifyingly believable.
Collect every A+ ranked monster? There were about 500 species in total.
If he truly managed that, when the time came, Leon could unleash over 500 tamed monsters—each at least A-rank—against any kingdom he chose to conquer.
No human army would stand a chance. They'd be utterly crushed.
And Anis knew well that Leon wasn't collecting these creatures to build a monster army—
he was simply obsessed with collecting them.
"Please gather all available information on high-ranked monsters from the Adventurers' Guild. If there are any above rank A, we'll capture them immediately."
"Okay, okay~ Let me think—there are a lot of them. You want all of them?"
"Yes," Leon said with a confident grin. "I'm gonna catch 'em all."
