As the anaesthetic wore off, Manyū Kyōko began stirring from her chemically induced slumber. Her eyes fluttered open, and she sat upright, staring blankly at the jutsu formulae carved into the floor around her as she struggled to piece together her foggy memories.
If she remembered correctly, her husband had negotiated with the village's higher-ups for her to become a surrogate mother for one of the Hokage's unborn children, offering them safe haven in Tanimagakure in exchange for this favour, should the Hidden Leaf Village fall. With surprising swiftness for a bureaucracy that usually preferred to drag its feet, and without even bothering to wait and see whether the Hokage would awaken from her coma, the hospital staff had arranged the operation.
Luckily, Lady Kyōko had happened to be at Konoha General for a check-up for her young baby, Hatomune, who had mysteriously developed the Wood Style Kekkei Genkai. The doctors had dragged her into the operating theatre and anaesthetised her... and judging by the red pinpricks on her belly, they had already performed the embryo transplant...
"Kyaah!" Kyōko screamed.
She had just noticed that half the operating theatre was in ruins and that the floor was strewn with bodies. Sakura herself lay beside her, while two of the doctors who had overseen the operation were visibly unconscious and a third had been torn to shreds, lying in a pool of his own blood. The masked shinobi named Kakashi, Sakura's sensei if she remembered correctly, had crumpled into a heap in one corner. It looked as though he had been poisoned...
"Manyū-style Kenjutsu: Purification!"
With shaky hands, Kyōko picked up a scalpel from a nearby table and knelt beside Kakashi, making an incision in his pectoral muscle. The snake venom that had been injected into his bloodstream seeped from the wound, clinging to the scalpel's edge.
Very soon, it was Kakashi's turn to wake up.
"Sakura!" he cried out, his eyes flying open.
Sakura's skin was flushed pink, her hospital gown drenched in sweat. She groaned, kicking and punching at the air as she tossed and turned across the floor, cracking the linoleum tiles and wrecking the healing formulae she had been laid upon with her restless struggling. She was visibly on the verge of waking from her coma, but whose mind would be in control of her body when she finally opened her eyes remained to be seen...
"You'd better go," he muttered, and Kyōko gladly obliged, running out of the room as fast as her legs could carry her.
Kakashi drew a kunai as he moved behind Sakura, tears streaming from his eyes.
"Not again, don't make me do this again," he muttered to himself as he briefly dissociated, Nohara Rin's face seeming to superimpose itself over Sakura's as his grip tightened on the handle, so hard that his knuckles turned white. "Don't make me kill you again, Rin… please... I beg you..."
Sakura's back arched, a guttural scream tearing from her lips.
In Kakashi's blurred vision, her body seemed to split in two, curved demon horns bursting through the skin of her broad forehead. Beneath her upper breasts, a second pair swelled into existence, stretching her already overtaxed hospital gown to its limits...
…but just as he was about to bury his kunai in Sakura's heart, an arm burst from her forehead between her two horns and seized his wrist, twisting it. With a grunt of pain, Kakashi was forced to let the weapon slip from his grip, and it clattered uselessly to the floor.
Sakura's eyes fluttered open.
"Ugh, that was a nasty nightmare," she groaned, rubbing her eyes. She blinked, staring at Kakashi's tear-stained face in confusion. "Er… am I interrupting something?"
"…Sakura?" Kakashi said tremulously. "Is it… really you?"
The horns, that strange arm, and her second pair of breasts were rapidly receding, like the fading remnants of a dream moments after waking.
"Who else would I be?" Sakura said, frowning. "Wait…"
And then it hit her.
Scrambling to her feet and failing to stand fully upright, Sakura pitched forwards, her face vanishing into the cavernous cleavage of her three-metre bustline. In a panic, she began pawing at her stomach and waist, trying to feel whether her lower half was still attached to her upper half.
Finding no mottled scar where she ought to have been cleaved in twain, she tried prising her breasts apart to peer past them, but it was a lost cause; they were simply too large. She quickly abandoned the attempt when she realised she could hardly be on her feet if she no longer had any legs, wherever they were hidden beneath her shelf-like chest.
"I'm alive!" Sakura said in disbelief. "...and I'm huge!"
Katsuyu and the iryō-nin had done a good job patching her up for transport, and the doctors had properly finished the job once her unconscious body had been returned to the Hidden Leaf. If it hadn't been for the grudges festering in her chest, keeping her comatose, she would have been combat-ready days ago, thanks to her superhuman vitality.
Though she looked fine from the outside, Sakura's midsection still hadn't fully recovered yet. Looking at the vast expanse of flesh before her, she could scarcely believe her eyes… and neither could her spine.
