Chapter 121 - Chapter 120: Uzumaki's New Home

Uzumaki Kana, carried on Shisui's back, felt a warmth she had not known for as long as she could remember.

It wasn't merely physical warmth. It was the warmth of safety — a feeling she had almost forgotten existed.

The destruction of the Land of Whirlpools, the years of wandering, the birth of her daughter, and the humiliation of life under the Kusagakure all flashed through her mind like shards of glass. Each memory cut deep.

But now… was it finally ending?

For the first time in years, her heart trembled not from fear, but from something like hope.

"We're almost there." said Shisui, his voice gentle and steady.

Kana raised her head weakly. In the distance, through the pale light of dawn, she saw the outline of a vast village — towering walls, fluttering flags, rooftops glimmering in the sunrise.

'Konoha…'

A ripple of unease passed through her. What awaited her there?

Was this truly salvation, or merely another cage?

Land of Whirlpools had once been Konoha's ally. And yet, when the storm of destruction had come, Konoha did not send aid.

'Do I hate them… or do I still hold hope for them?'

The emotions tangled in her chest like threads she could no longer untie.

At Konoha's main gate, the guards straightened in shock.

"Are they… the Uchiha Peacekeeping Force?"

The black-brown uniforms, the calm yet intimidating gait — there was no mistake.

The gate guards saluted instinctively, awe reflected in their eyes.

The Peacekeeping Department — Konoha's only division dedicated solely to maintaining order in the ninja world — had become a symbol of discipline and strength.

Feeling that respect, the Uchiha accompanying Shisui lifted their heads a little higher. Pride stirred within their chests.

In the past, when they served in the Military Police Force, they were feared and obeyed out of necessity, not admiration. Now, they were truly honored.

'This is what it means to be an Uchiha.' thought one of them. 'To protect, not to be feared.'

Shisui led them directly toward Konoha Hospital.

Kana's injuries were severe — bruised ribs, blood loss, infection. Her body trembled faintly with each step.

The medical staff rushed forward the moment the group entered. White-coated medics carefully transferred her onto a stretcher and hurried her inside.

Shisui watched until the door closed, his expression unreadable, then turned away silently.

Half an hour later.

Inside Konoha Hospital, the scent of antiseptic hung in the air.

Kana lay beneath crisp white sheets, an IV tube slowly dripping into her hand. The steady rhythm of the monitor beside her was strangely comforting.

She stared at the spotless ceiling, dazed.

'Yesterday, I was still being beaten… and today I'm here?'

It felt like a dream. Too fragile to believe.

From outside the room came muffled voices.

"How is she doing?"

A young medic responded, "Hokage-sama, we brought her just in time. Severe anemia, multiple external wounds, long-term malnutrition. She'll need an extended recovery, but she'll live."

'Hokage-sama?'

Kana froze. Her heart thudded in her chest.

The Hokage — the supreme leader of the Konohagakure.

'Could it be… the Fifth Hokage himself is here?'

The door slid open with a swish.

A tall man stepped in, sunlight following him through the doorway. Blond hair gleamed like gold. His eyes were calm, steady — filled with that quiet, commanding gentleness that made even the air seem lighter.

"H-Hokage-sama…" she stammered, voice trembling.

Karin, who had been sitting beside her bed, clutched her sleeve nervously. The little girl didn't understand, but seeing her mother so anxious made her small hands shake.

"Don't be nervous." said Namikaze Mirai, his tone warm, almost brotherly.

He approached the bed slowly. "You're safe now. Your body will need time to heal. Someone will be assigned to care for you both."

He paused, smiling faintly. "This is Konoha. From today onward, no one will hurt you here."

Those words broke the last of her restraint.

Her vision blurred as tears slid down her cheeks. For so long she had dreamed of safety, and now the words themselves were enough to undo her completely.

Mirai's expression softened. After giving his final instructions to the attending medic, he turned and quietly left.

He had other duties — but in that brief glance before the door closed, he had already decided something important.

"Mom… why are you crying?"

Karin's small voice was puzzled.

Kana wiped her tears with shaking fingers, smiling faintly. "Mom's happy."

Outside, sunlight spilled across Konoha's rooftops as Namikaze Mirai walked straight from the hospital toward the Konoha Television Station — the same studio where his previous humanitarian broadcasts had been filmed.

The staff looked up in surprise when he entered.

"Hokage-sama!"

"I'll be recording a new statement." he said simply.

"A… statement?" The lead technician blinked. "Understood. I'll call Yamato-san and Tsunade-sama right away."

Mirai shook his head. "No need. I'll handle this one personally."

The technician froze mid-step, eyes wide.

The Hokage himself — addressing the entire ninja world directly.

That had never happened before.

"Yes, Hokage-sama!" He bowed and scrambled to prepare the cameras, heart pounding. Every crew member worked faster than they ever had.

Ten minutes later, the broadcast began.

Across the Land of Fire, the Land of Rivers, the Land of Grass, even the distant Land of Earth, the same signal cut through regular programming.

At first, people didn't pay attention. Then they saw the man on screen.

The white robe with flame-like hems. The Hokage's hat casting a shadow over calm blue eyes.

The Fifth Hokage.

Silence fell in homes and taverns alike.

"I, Namikaze Mirai," he began, his voice clear and even, "speak now in the name of the Fifth Hokage of Konoha."

The viewers leaned closer. The tone was not triumphant, not political — it was something gentler.

"—to the scattered descendants of the Uzumaki clan."

A ripple of confusion, then shock spread among audiences.

"No matter where you are, no matter what hardships you face." Mirai continued, "Konoha calls to you. Come home."

He looked directly into the lens.

"Konoha will accept you. We will give you a new life. The Uzumaki bloodline, wandering across the ninja world — come to Konoha. Let this be your new home."

His words carried warmth, but beneath that warmth lay iron resolve.

Across the world, the effect was immediate.

Konoha Hospital.

On her bed, Kana watched the broadcast on the small television mounted to the wall.

The moment she saw the Hokage's face again — that same calm kindness — tears returned unbidden. Her body trembled. She reached out, touching the edge of the screen as if she could feel his voice.

Her daughter looked up in wonder. "Mom… that's him…"

Kana nodded slowly. "Yes. The man who saved us."

In a tattered slum within the Land of Rivers, an older red-haired woman stared at her flickering television set. The picture was grainy, the sound weak, but the message was clear. Her cracked lips moved without sound, eyes glistening.

In distant corners of the Land of Lightning, the Land of Earth, the Land of Grass — wherever an Uzumaki still lived in hiding — hearts stirred. Memories of red hair, of whirlpool crests, of home long lost, all came rushing back.

For the first time in decades, they heard someone call to them.

Land of Rain.

Deep beneath Amegakure, in the dripping darkness of his chamber, Nagato sat in silence, the image from the Six Paths' vision flickering before him.

On the screen, Namikaze Mirai's voice echoed: "Konoha will become your new home."

Nagato's jaw tightened, the tendons standing out on his neck. His ripple-patterned eyes blazed.

"So now," he hissed, "he targets the Uzumaki as well."

His hand curled into a trembling fist.

The Fifth Hokage — that man had already stolen the faith of the Land of Rain's citizens, luring them away with food and promises.

And now, he was reaching for the remnants of Nagato's own bloodline.

If Konoha truly cared for the Uzumaki, why had they not come when Land of Whirlpools fell?

Why now?

The thought twisted in his mind like a blade.

"A conspiracy." he muttered, voice low and venomous. "It must be a conspiracy."

The image of Mirai's calm, bright face only enraged him further.

"Damn Konoha…" he snarled. "Damn that Hokage… to lay hands on my own kin!"
