Chapter 701 - Chapter 700: Sacred Glow and a Scandalous Truth

Inside the room, Pei Guang and March 7th played around for a while.

In the end, the farce concluded with March getting her fill of touching him.

When she left Pei Guang's room, March 7th casually helped close the door behind her. Left alone in the room, Pei Guang confirmed there was nothing else to do and prepared to enter a dream.

Inside the warm trash can, he adjusted himself, found a comfortable posture, and opened his system.

Just like how players get a prompt before entering a dungeon, Pei Guang also got a prompt when entering a dream.

As long as he didn't click "agree," he wouldn't enter.

The moment he confirmed entry, Pei Guang stepped into the dream world.

The scene shifted instantly, and in that moment of transition he vaguely heard some strange sound. But his loading speed was too fast, and before he could make it out, he was already inside the dream.

And so Pei Guang entered the dream.

If March 7th hadn't groped him earlier, he definitely would have remembered that he was only wearing underwear. But because her soft, cool little hand had roamed across his chest, Pei Guang's mind was filled only with that sensation.

This made him forget that he was only wearing boxers!

At this moment, Pei Guang had quite the aura of freedom as well as the aura of being a wanted fugitive~ And upon arriving, the first thing he paid attention to was the space itself,, so he didn't notice anything different about his own body.

Well, not exactly unnoticed: he just felt freer, and the comfort of that combined with the joy of a new map made him forget his useless state.

In the dream world, Pei Guang found himself in a room identical to his own in the Reverie Hotel. Though identical, it still gave him a peculiar feeling.

"This place… interesting."

Here, his flaming trash can was gone, and the Dreampool had turned back to normal. Approaching it, Pei Guang heard a broadcast.

The broadcast was broken and choppy, but he roughly understood it: due to special circumstances, entry into this dream required someone's guidance.

It sounded reasonable, but faced with the broken audio, Pei Guang couldn't help but complain.

"This choppy nonsense? You sure this isn't a horror dungeon? What, next Uncle Freddy's gonna jump out and chase me around the dream world?"

If the broadcast had been smooth, he wouldn't have cared much, but this glitchy delivery carried the vibe of a horror flick.

He kept looking around.

On the table was a note that drew him closer. It was a counsel from the Watchmaker.

"Even in dreams, there are impossibilities. Find it, and you shall be granted an audience."

Rubbing his chin, Pei Guang thought seriously. "So I need to find the Watchmaker? Looks like this quest ties back to the one Himeko gave me. But 'impossible things in a dream'? That's way too many. Then again… this is a dream world."

In a normal game, players might brainstorm what a dream character couldn't do. But for Pei Guang, whose freedom was absurdly high, he could already think of several things completely impossible—even in a dream.

For starters, something simple like adding an "exit" button to his system. That alone, the dream couldn't manage!

He checked his system again.

Still no exit.

On top of that, Pei Guang also harbored bad hunches about this dream world. Stories about idyllic dream worlds going wrong weren't just cliché: he'd played a few solid games with exactly that setup.

The catch? Those were horror games.

Considering his own stitched-together mess of mechanics, getting thrown into a mashup of horror, puzzle, combat, and Werewolf wasn't impossible.

While he was lost in thought, a clear voice broke in: Misha's.

"Over here~ Can you see me? This way~"

Following the sound, Pei Guang saw a painting. A crack ran across it, with several arms reaching out around the fissure.

"So you want me to go through this? I won't!"

He refused to follow the prompt, instead deciding to test what would happen if he just used the main door.

At the door, he pushed hard, but no matter how he shoved, it didn't budge.

"Looks like there's an invisible wall. Nothing I can do."

Since he couldn't leave, he figured he'd follow the preset path. But Pei Guang overlooked one thing: while the door wouldn't push, it could be pulled.

Out of habit, though—since most doors opened outward—he kept pushing, missing his chance to jailbreak.

Players always got tricked by devs exploiting habits.

Though, technically, this world had no devs.

He approached the painting, and the moment he touched it, his vision filled with light.

Before he could take in his new surroundings, a startled scream rang out.

"Ah!!!"

As the voice echoed, Pei Guang found himself soaring in the sky. Beneath him lay a bustling city.

"Hm?"

His mind lagged a bit.

Someone had just called out to him… wasn't he supposed to meet them? How had he suddenly appeared above a city?

But soon the dazzling scenery captured him, and he drifted through the air, admiring Penacony in its last moments before midnight.

Then suddenly, he sensed something. Turning instinctively, he spotted Stelle flying through the sky as well.

At the same moment, Stelle felt his gaze and turned too. But when her eyes met his, there was no joy, only silence.

Because right now, Pei Guang was flying in the sky wearing nothing but boxers.

"Ah Guang! Clothes! Clothes!!"

Stelle shouted loudly. Hearing her, Pei Guang glanced down at himself.

"Oh, not a big deal. I've got boxers. Besides…"

In an instant, clothes appeared on his body.

Seeing him dressed, Stelle let out a breath of relief—only for her eyes to widen in shock a moment later.

Because Pei Guang had stripped the clothes away again.

Would a player feel shame for being naked? Not in front of a screen, but if it were a completely realistic experience, there would indeed be a little bit of shame.

But likewise, as a player, would he refuse to do something just because of shame?

No!

After all, the harmony system was active. He was still wearing that strange underwear unique to players: unbreakable, impossible to strip off, always a perfect fit.

In this state, Pei Guang actually wanted to try out something in this dream world that he normally wouldn't dare to attempt. Besides, there had been that admonition about finding something impossible within a dream.

Then, performing a special landing himself counted as testing whether it could be done in a dream—very reasonable!

As the saying goes, the fewer the clothes, the higher the defense.

At this moment, Pei Guang felt his defense stats were already maxed out.

Flying through the sky, the breeze brushing against his cheeks (both pairs), Pei Guang couldn't help but spread his arms wide.

"Lightwings! Unfurl!!"

Pei Guang, clad only in underwear, spread radiant wings of holy light in midair!!!

In that instant, he unleashed his holy light skill. The range of holy light might have been limited, but the brilliance it emitted was very real.

At that moment, Stelle fell completely silent.

She saw the sacred radiance burst forth from Pei Guang's body, and somehow, paired with his form, it gave him an air of divinity.

Pei Guang wrapped himself perfectly within the glow of holy light, ensuring that outsiders could only see the brilliance, not his bare body underneath.

Yet beneath that radiance was just a man in nothing but underwear.

Pei Guang was chasing thrills, savoring an experience unlike any other. Looking at him now was like gazing upon an ancient Greek statue.

It did not evoke vulgarity or filth, only the beauty of the human form.

Unfortunately, most people would not see it that way.

But Stelle did!

Gazing at the perfect image of Pei Guang, she smiled with satisfaction: "Thanks for the treat!"

To distant onlookers, it was a glowing figure descending, but up close, Stelle witnessed the sacredly radiant body. To her, this dream was wonderful indeed: to behold such a marvelous sight…

She swore that when they had free time later, she'd go to Pei Guang's room and ask him to do this just for her once more.

Speaking those words felt like achieving a lifelong dream, and she plunged straight down, while Pei Guang closed his eyes in enjoyment.

He spread his arms, amplifying his holy light effect to the maximum. Though its range was small, the dazzling and sacred brilliance shining in the night sky made people in the streets below instinctively look up.

In that instant, different kinds of people all widened their eyes in shock at the same sight—a figure descending bathed in holy radiance.

No! Some with peculiar faiths in that moment took Pei Guang as a Holy Son, or even a Child of God, descending upon the world.

Who else but a divine envoy could shine with such sanctity?

Most only saw the glow, true. But a small few could see through to the truth. Especially those who knew Pei Guang but not his daily antics: their minds short-circuited for a moment.

Yet there was an exception.

A twin-tailed girl in a red kimono, wearing a mask upon her head, looked up at the glowing, winged Pei Guang and happily clapped her hands.

"Interesting~ interesting~ A glowing naked man in the sky? The famous Pei Guang, your entrance ceremony is truly one of a kind. You~ are mine~ Let's play a game together~"

As a Masked Fool, she found Pei Guang's existence utterly fascinating.

Normally, a man appearing half-naked in the sky would seem crude. Yet under the blessing of holy light, even she felt a strange sense of sanctity.

Judging by the direction of that glow's descent, he should be nearby. Since she had free time anyway, she decided to pay this "player" a proper visit.
