Chapter 12 - Heading to the Northwest Continent!

There are many people blessed with great fortune on the Northwest Continent.

If he could influence the fortunes of a lucky individual in that region...

Gu Fei narrowed his eyes. That would be far better than staying in the Gu realm.

Moreover, with his current strength, he was fully capable of establishing himself on the Northwest Continent.

The Northwest Continent was barren, with scarce resources, making it difficult for powerful individuals to emerge. While there were some top figures, overall, the strength of the region was far inferior to the Eastern Region.

Gu Fei's ability to refine seventh-grade elixirs alone would make him a welcome guest in many prominent families across the continent. After all, such elixirs were incredibly rare, not just in the Northwest but all the continents.

Having made his decision to leave, Gu Fei knew he had to prepare thoroughly. He never engaged in a battle unprepared. While confident in his abilities, he was never arrogant. It was always better to be well-prepared.

The Gu realm was rich in cultivation resources and rare medicinal materials. It would be a waste if Gu Fei didn't make use of them before leaving.

Thanks to his status and recognized strength among the younger generation, many resources were allocated to him. Not to mention, his grandfather, the Black Annihilation King, further ensured he had access to precious materials.

There were still valuable medicinal herbs left from his last batch of seventh-grade elixirs, and Gu Fei collected them all. He also gathered numerous cultivation resources, storing them in his storage ring.

In recent days, Gu Fei had been busy securing resources. When he finally took a break, he realized he had forgotten to inform his grandfather, Gulie, about his plans.

He walked to the door and knocked. After a moment, Gulie opened it and smiled faintly at the sight of his grandson, who had been absent for most of the day.

Though Gu Lie was Gu Fei's grandfather, he didn't appear old. On the contrary, he had a handsome face, a straight posture, and looked to be in his thirties or forties, with a subtle glow in his eyes.

There was no visible fluctuation of fighting spirit around Gu Lie, but Gu Fei knew that if his grandfather ever made a move, it would be decisive, and blood would be spilled. Anyone foolish enough to underestimate him based on his appearance would be doomed.

"Grandpa, I plan to travel outside. I can't grow stronger if I remain in the Gu realm," Gu Fei said bluntly, knowing his grandfather understood him best.

Gu Lie had known for some time about the breakup between Gu Fei and Xun'er. He had not directly intervened but suspected his grandson was still affected by it. Although Gu Fei appeared calm and unaffected, Gu Lie could recall the happiness on his face when he had first proposed to Xun'er. At that time, Gu Yuan had approved the marriage, and Gu Fei had barely been able to contain his joy. Gu Lie had teased him about it for days.

Now, Gu Fei's demeanor had become more stable, with no visible emotional fluctuations. Gu Lie wasn't sure if this was a good or bad sign; he simply wished for his grandson to be healthy and happy.

When Gu Fei suggested leaving, Gu Lie didn't focus much on whether it would make his grandson stronger. He believed Gu Fei was already talented enough to reach the pinnacle in due time. What he hoped was for his grandson to find happiness.

Since Gu Fei had made up his mind, Gu Lie readily agreed. He even gave him many treasures and cultivation resources to take along.

Gu Fei couldn't help but laugh but accepted them graciously.

After packing everything, Gu Fei said his goodbyes to Gu Lie and left the Gu realm quietly, informing no one except his grandfather. However, Gu Fei was a well-known figure in the Gu realm, and his absence would surely be noticed. Soon, sharp observers would speculate that he had left.

But that was a matter for later.

For now, Gu Fei had left the Gu realm, passed through the Gu Holy City, and arrived in the Eastern Region.

The Gu Holy City was the gateway between the Gu realm and the outside. As soon as Gu Fei stepped out of the space portal, he felt a wave of intense gazes upon him.

Outsiders were strictly prohibited from entering the Gu Holy City, and most of those guarding it were powerful men of the Gu clan. They all knew of Gu Fei, the strongest among the younger generation, but they were disciplined and didn't approach him. They merely watched him with respect, acknowledging his strength.

Gu Fei paused briefly before heading towards the city gate. The guards greeted him respectfully and stepped aside to allow him to pass.

In the Eastern Region, the Gu Realm held the highest status. It was the emperor of the entire Eastern Region. Zhongzhou's Eastern Region was vast and filled with a diverse population. Survival here often depended on being backed by a powerful Gu clan. Many people in the Eastern Region even worshiped members of the Gu clan as if they were gods, their reverence bordering on madness.

While the Eastern Region offered many opportunities, it was not the place where Gu Fei wished to test himself. He had set his sights on the barren Northwest Continent.

And so, Gu Fei embarked on his journey to the Northwest.

As he traveled, he received an unexpected system notification.

[Xun'er feels regretful. Emotional value increased by 300.]

It turned out that news of Gu Fei's departure from the Gu realm had spread. When Xun'er heard of it, she felt a deep sense of regret.

However, Gu Fei remained indifferent to the notification. In the Gu realm, although Xun'er regretted her decision, her primary concern seemed to be the safety of her brother, Xiao Yan. Ever since the Gu demon's assassination attempt on Xiao Yan, which had left him gravely injured and missing, Xun'er had been preoccupied with his wellbeing.

Xun'er convinced herself that her decision to go to the Northwest Continent was solely to find her brother. It had nothing to do with Gu Fei.

After this self-assurance, she quietly left the Gu realm as well, heading for the Northwest.

In the Gu realm, Xun'er's departure did not go unnoticed. Though she tried to sneak away, her strength allowed her to avoid most people's attention. However, due to her anxious and distracted state, some keen individuals still discovered that she had left the Gu realm.

With both Gu Fei and Xun'er, two of the Gu realm's most gifted individuals, leaving in quick succession, many felt a sense of loss.

"Do you think Brother Gu Fei and Miss Xun'er have left to seek new opportunities?"

"If even a genius like Brother Gu Fei has left, does that mean we should also leave the Gu realm to grow stronger?"

The people of the Gu clan were powerful, but they also respected strength and sought ways to become stronger themselves. However, they would never resort to underhanded means to achieve it.
