Aiden paused as he stared back at Idris evenly. Although his expression betrayed nothing, his mind flickered with the faintest memory from a decade ago.
They had crossed paths once —at the hospital —but there was no need to revisit a past better left forgotten.
Shaking his head lightly, Aiden answered calmly. "We didn't."
Idris studied him for a moment longer, his sharp eyes narrowing slightly as if trying to dig through the fog of his memory. But eventually, he gave a small nod, conceding. "Maybe I am connecting you to someone else. Don't mind an old man's confusion."
Just then, the door to the room opened again, and Robin stepped inside. His gaze darted to look at Aiden once before shifting back to Idris. "Sir," he started to report, "I talked with Mr. Blackwood. He said he would be visiting Madam today."
Idris nodded. "Ask him to be prompt in everything. I want all of it to settle as soon as possible."
Robin nodded in understanding.
