Arwen didn't know when she dozed off, but she woke up to the faint click of a door.
Her eyes fluttered open, disoriented, and the first thing she saw was a nurse stepping out of her father's room.
"What happened?" Arwen asked quickly, her voice carrying a trace of alarm. She hadn't even realized she had fallen asleep. She had intended to stay awake until her father opened his eyes —at least once.
The nurse offered a small, reassuring smile and shook her head. "It's nothing serious. I just went in to check on his condition. He woke up for a few seconds before drifting off again."
Arwen's heart skipped. She straightened in her chair, her hands curling against the armrest. "He is fine, right?" she asked, her voice trembling with both hope and fear.
The nurse nodded firmly. "Yes. His vitals are steady. Rest is what he needs most right now. Don't worry, he is doing better than before.".
