Arwen looked up at his face and suddenly, realization dawned upon her.
Aiden's mother was sick, and it was for her treatment that he had decided to return to the Winslow family.
Could something have happened to her that day as well that he had to rush to her side?
"You still don't believe me?" Aiden's voice suddenly snapped her back.
Blinking, she shook her head. "No, I do believe you," she said, "I never distrusted your words. I was just thinking about something else."
"Really?"
She smiled and reached out to frame his face with one hand. Then tipping up on her toes, she leaned in to press a small kiss over his lips. "Really. Do you believe it now?"
He stared at her and nodded.
"Good that you do. Otherwise, I don't have any other way to make you believe me. After all, I am not a smooth talker like you."
"You don't have to because no matter what you say, I would believe it."
"Really? Even the lies?" she asked, arching her brows in faint curiosity.
