Silence took hold as Zunjing, now frozen in the lake, began to transform from his previous likeness, the vibrations of the Dao rang true in the air above the lake as fog began to form, anything it touched becoming ice, clear as day and cold as the moon itself.
And then, noise.
Crashing against the surface of the lake, an earth shattering explosion rang, and Zunjing burst out, floating in mid air with his eyes closed, the fog around him began to rapidly expand, an icy formation taking hold as the previously beautiful green landscape turned into a domain of ice, a manifestation that was Zunjing and the power inside him.
The sky turned a pale blue and light began to drift along the clouds, a frigid sound ringing in the air above, the entirety of the Qin Compound felt it, and people began to move towards the forest in haste and alarm.
....
....
Qin Taixu, the leader of the Qin Clan, was busy thinking about recent developments in the Devil's borderfield, the divide between the blood realm and the Zhao Dynasty. His handsome yet hardened face furrowed and frowned as he looked at a scroll in his hands.
In a way, one would say that he looked remarkably similar to a certain someone, only a lot more muscular and fierce in the eyes of which began to chill as he read the last sentence in the scroll.
Due to the recent ambush on their armies, the Emperor set a personal decree, relaying that each and every noble house of the Dynasty living in Zhu Road are to send reinforcements to the battle, with a direct descendant of the household to lead their companies to victory.
Qin Taixu didn't like this at all.
Despite his rough demeanor and his terrible reputation, he secretly loved his children, but the power dynamics of the dynasty and the clan itself was hard to gain control of. The Qin clan had an elder council of ancestors, the previous family heads of the family taking to the background to make the most important decisions for the family.
Although it seemed like he had power, in reality he didn't. As such, despite his rampant disagreement and furious pleas, he was unable to stop the elders from making a cruel and heartless decision.
Why was it that these damned elders kept targeting his youngest son? Just because of a lack of talent?
Whatever did that change when they had all the power in the world to support and hold him up?
Yes personal power meant everything in this world, and as such didn't he have it? Wasn't his family powerful enough?
Why must his child be sent to die?
He's not strong enough to protect himself...what if he...?
Tears of frustration and sickening anger threatened to spill down the warrior's face as his mind raced itself tired.
He was tired.
Qin Taixu sighed, before picking up a bottle near him, intent on drowning out this sorrow with a drink, but as he was pouring his liquor into his cup, it froze before hitting contact with the bottom.
The ground began to shake, and a chill shivered down his spine, as he began to hear a chime
Quickly, he ran outside to see the sky blue with a daunting light, the clouds heavy with snow as the world around him was painted white.
He looked to one of his soldiers rushing towards the direction of the light, and questioned furiously on the situation.
"What the HELL is going on!?!"
The guard looked panicked, ''For some reason, Qin forest has been turned into ice, no one knows why, but everyone's racing towards the area!''
Qin Taixu, not waiting for further information, sped towards Qin forest outside the edge of the compounds. He was a hardened warrior, and while information was important, he had long learned that life was too precious to wait for all the details. He knew not of what was going on, but he moved with haste, to protect his family.
...
...
Seconds turned into minutes and minutes turned into an hour as near everyone from the Qin Clan made their way from deep in the compounds to it's outskirts, kept by a sight that stunned them all.
''Isn't that Xue Zunjing? Why is he floating?''
"That bastard caused this mess? I knew he was no good for the clan!"
''Look! Mommy, the boy with the white hair is floating! He's so pretty!''
''Hush! That child is nothing to admire! Speak nothing of him, do you hear me!?!"
"Yes mommy...''
Crowds of words and criticism rang out, dissatisfaction and prejudice clear.
''Shut it!" a demanding voice rang out with a raspy undertone, clearly ripe with age. Soon, a man walked out, his hair in a bun and a beard as long as his figure, his pitch black robe draped the floor as he inched towards the front of the crowd.
''This boy is rapidly increasing in cultivation level; instead of shouting and barking nonsense about his illegitimate lineage, pay attention to the important details!''
Instantly, everyone focused on the boy in the air, not taking note to question who the elder was.
And he was right!
The boy's Aura was rapidly increasing, breezing through cultivation so fast they almost missed it!

Qi Condensation Realm!
''Look! His Aura is stabilizing at Qi Condensation Level three! He's achieved Qi Condensation 30% in one go!"
Everyone watching was stunned.
Especially Qin Taixu, who was standing beside the Elder Council Members. Oddly enough, the old man who shouted earlier was standing right next to him.
''Taixu, it seems we might've been wrong about that kid of yours. He has quite the talent, " the old man said.
Taixu looked at the old man in anger
''Father, you realize what this means, right?''
The Old Man was Qin Taixu's Father!
Also known as Elder Thirteen!
''Of course I do, boy. We just made a huge mistake. This kid's aura...it's likely he's comprehended a Dao Body. That's a once-in-a-million-level talent! Should he die...''
Elder Thirteen's eyes went cold, his Aura almost as frigid as Xue Zunjing's.
''The Imperial Court will have to compensate us for such a loss. But unfortunately, we can't pull him out of this war. Word has already been sent to the palace. Should we deny the decree, trouble will begin to brew on Zhu Road. We can't afford such discourse at this point in time. I'm sorry, Little Xu.''
Qin Taixu began to look worriedly at his son, floating in the sky as Daoist rhymes echo from his very being. His hair was a chilling white, and his skin paler than a sheet of paper. He looked alive, and yet dead. So pale that he could be mistaken for a cold corpse.
''Will he be okay?'', Qin Taixu watched In melancholy
''He will be, with this talent, he'll advance quickly on the battlefield. He has no choice.''
''I really hope so...Telling his mother is going to be hard.''
...
...
Soon, an hour passed, and the fog finally began to disperse.
As the crowd watched the fog slowly fade, Xue Zunjing slowly opened his pale blue eyes and started to fall.
But just as he was about to hit the ground, he flipped over and landed on his feet.
What is this new power?
He looked at himself; every movement seemed to bring about a chill. His body felt stronger, and he felt the lightest he's ever felt.
He began to scrutinize his body, not taking note of the crowd watching him from the side.
Walking over to the still frozen lake, he took a look at his reflection and almost gasped at the sight of his hair. White now, it was the stark opposite of the pitch black it used to be.
''Zunjing...'', Said a rough voice beside him. Zunjing knew who it was just by the voice. He didn't have to turn to know.
''Father.''
''We need to talk...'' Zunjing finally turned around to his father in this life, the rough features towering over his delicate ones.
''Understood''
