The old housekeeper had just glanced over and seen only a worker; he had yet to see the couple he had hoped to meet this time.
"Young Madam, could I perhaps see your in-laws?"
Mrs. Li hadn't even spoken yet!
Aunt Lai pouted her lips, finding the old man before her irritating and wanted to use her words to pick on him:
"Old man, our Old Master hasn't gotten out of bed yet, and our big Madam, she's not able to move or speak easily. Why do you need to see them?"
Housekeeper Ye gave a look to the maid by Mrs. Li's side. These maids were the servants he had trained and sent to serve by the young madam's side, all of them sharp and tactful.
The maid, having caught Housekeeper Ye's glance, nodded silently and walked out.
Mrs. Li completely ignored Aunt Lai and, after having another maid serve tea, also had fruits and pastries served.
"Elder, please try some of the specialties grown at home. Have you had breakfast? Have some pastries!"
