Canglin State—Jumu City.
Since the demon army flooded into various parts of Canglin State causing chaos, the defenses of this city have become much stricter. Not only are there guards patrolling the city walls day and night, but the number of guards at the city gates has also doubled.
In broad daylight, the city gate tower is packed with guards who are vigilantly watching the surroundings, on guard against any demon attack.
"Look quickly, someone is approaching the gate," a pig-headed guard suddenly pointed into the distance, nervously saying.
Another kobold gatekeeper, however, casually replied, "Newcomer, no need to be so tense, they're returnees. Those demons wouldn't dare to cause trouble at Jumu City."
The pig-headed man squinted and, indeed, saw several returnees on horseback, covered in blood, clearly just returning from killing monsters outside.
