Kelsey was already drowning in regret and self-blame; that Butterfingers play should never have happened. Now Li Wei's words hit the nail on the head.
Suddenly, Kelsey looked up at Li Wei, his anger fully ignited.
"Get lost." Kelsey fired back straight and hard.
But Li Wei stood his ground, his mouth curling into a sarcastic smile.
"So, you're not scared because of the 'home curse,' thinking we might inexplicably lose like others, like the New England Patriots, like the New Orleans Saints, like the Baltimore Ravens?"
"So, you're not suffocating under the pressure of Arrowhead Stadium's 21-game winning streak, inexplicably believing that the stadium that has stood behind us as a steadfast support for the past two and a half years has suddenly betrayed us?"
